Beppe Marotta says Juventus 'will complete a deal for Domenico Berardi’ but 'can’t confirm or deny’ deals for Barcelona’s Dani Alves and Javier Mascherano.

The Bianconeri transfer guru was intercepted at a Football Leader event in Amalfi today and answered questions about all the market rumours surrounding the club.

“This is a group that’s difficult to improve but we always want to be more competitive,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Dani Alves? We’re talking about an important player, but he isn’t our property. We’ll see what we can do.

“Mascherano? These are media situations, but we don’t want to sell anyone from our defence unless Caceres leaves on a free transfer.

“At the moment, though, we haven’t done anything, I can’t confirm or deny it. And the same goes for [Andre] Gomes and [Miralem] Pjanic.

“Berardi is a great talent, there’s a verbal agreement with Sassuolo and Juventus have the moral right of first refusal and we’re going to complete this deal.

“Morata? He’s becoming a champion, we’ll do everything possible to keep him in Turin.

“Real Madrid’s buy-back clause is like the Sword of Damacles, but we’ll meet with them after the Champions League final.

“Pelle? The only unknown in the attacking department is Morata, only in that case will we evaluate other investments.”

I hope we steal their medical staff and make our players super human and injury free and growth spurts for Gigi a la Messi. :xfinger:
Dude Barca's growth methods are a thing of the past now, we have new overlords:

(from some youth tourno barca-psg, both players ^ are 12yo :shifty:)

Evra was one of the weak links in CL. Alves already started to decline, he was one of the problems in Barcelona for last 2 years.

Why are we taking the path of destruction, collecting the 'has beens' whom we won't be able to sell, like milan and inter did and bit the dust just a couple of years after they actually win the CL? This club deserves better than regression.
There are two lessons that can be drawn from Inter and Milan. First (1), never let your entire squad become veterans at once and then let them leave in a mass exodus. Second (2), If you are forced into a mass exodus, don't rebuild the team on a substantially smaller budget than the one you used to sustain the veterans.

Neither of these lessons apply to what Juve is doing now at all.

In the first place,(1) we are not letting the entire squad become veterans and those who are old do not form the backbone of the team. Our most important and best players are extremely young in Pogba and Dybala. Our midfield has no veterans in it with Marchisio and Khedira not being young but are still far from being old declining ones and have plenty of years ahead of them. Similarly in defense, we have players like Bonnucci and Chiellini who still have many years at the top and Rugani as a youngster coming through the ranks. Sandro is young as well as is the majority of our bench in Pereyra, Zaza, Morata/Berardi, Asa, Lemina, Starurururu, Rugani. There is simply no way that adding Mascherano and Alves would make us into an Intermilan whose only young good player was balotelli coming from the bench and literally almost everyone else being 30 and above. Milan were even older iirc across the board with no young player having any important role in the squad.

(2) In the second place, even if we had far too many old players starting for us (which is not the case), we can actually afford getting replacements and our finances are growing every year. We do not have to rebuild all at once and we do not have to do that at a substantially smaller budget. Milan was spending 160 mills per year in salaries in 2011/12 and then had to rebuild on 120 mills the year after and then 105 mills then 94 mills. Thats year after year in cuts of spending and when the big exodus occurred (between 11/12 and 12/13) they had to spend 40 mills less on wages which substantial considering that this is money for wages. Milan were thus sustaining a squad of old farts on 160 mills and had to shrink substantially. To appreciate how insanely mismanaged they were compare their starting point (160) to what we paid last year with Pirlo and Vidal on board (124).

Inter did the same thing cutting down from spending 145 mills to spending 100 mills between 2011/12 and 2012/13 and then 90 mills and then 70 mills.
In that same time period starting 2011/12, Juve was spending just 100 mills, then 115 mills, then 115 again, then 118 then 124. Unlike the others we CAN afford this and are in great financial shape and we have a growing trajectory and our squad is in no way full of old farts.

Your fears that we would be doing another Milan or Inter are thus without any grounds. Alves and Mascherano would be brilliant signings.

I hate him, one of the most disgusting players in the world. Even if he was a brillant footballer. Should be noted tough that the last 2 years he's been shit.
