Anyone followed him recently? He’s likely leaving Saudi now but im curious if hes still sharp enough to cut it at a midtable team in Italy or Germany.

The wages will always be an issue ofcourse.

No one is going to pay him what he is paid in the camel league. If playing in Europe is his priority, he should accept a pay cut. I think he wants to retire at his former club, where he grew up and debuted his career. The problem about this guy is he doesn't want to accept that his career at professional level is over, the guy thinks it's still 2017.

Ronaldo and Messi have the same problem. They can't go to a big club because they're not good enough anymore to have a significant role, and they're too big to play in a reserve role because it will be too much of a headache and distraction for the club and coach.

And neither one of them are going to play in some mid-level club making little money when they can go play in a shit league making big money and padding their stats while essentially enjoying early retirement.

It's a shame too, because there are fun places Ronaldo could go to. For example, Paris FC was just promoted to Ligue 1 and what better way to try to promote your club and bring attention to it than signing Ronaldo? Or what about a club like Como? Imagine Ronaldo there as they try to build their club into bigger status in Italy. Those clubs would get the attention they want and Ronaldo could go and be the focal point and star. Hell, Ronaldo at a club like Roma would be fun.

Outside the box ideas like that are fun, but will just never happen for many reasons. And I don't blame them for choosing the path they're currently on.

Hypothetical question: Do you think CR7 would have qualms about going to Inter, keeping in mind the bad blood that exists between us and them?

I'm a Ronaldo fan and don't mean this as an insult.

I think Ronaldo cares about Ronaldo. Forget Inter. He would sign for Barcelona in a second if they wanted him to be their starting striker and he could score 40 goals a year.

When it comes to club football, Ronaldo wants to score goals, make money, and win -- and I think that order is his priority at this point in his career going into his age 41 season.

He's confirmed that he's not going to join a club for the CWC.

Makes sense for him just to stay in Saudi and concentrate on his 1000 goals thing, which I'm sure is all he is focused on now.

Another European trophy. Goddamn, say what you want about how he comports himself, he's proven once again against the best of competition that he still has that "it" factor.

Still sad how everything went down when he got here. Without COVID, I have no doubt he would've gotten us a UCL trophy.

It makes me sad looking back on those teams and the names/talent we had. We may not have been a great team and definitely had holes in the midfield and at fullback, but I truly loved those teams and we had players I truly enjoyed watching and rooting for

Older players/leaders like Buffon, Chiellini, Bonucci, Cuadrado, and Cristiano

Solid players still in their prime ages like Szczesny, Danilo, Dybala, Rabiot, and Morata

And newer/younger talents like de Ligt, Demiral, Bentancur, Chiesa, McKennie, and Kulusevski

That was a fun time to be a Juventus fan

"Ronaldo is the problem" said the two clubs that went into free fall after he left and to this day have not had a better striker than 40 year old Ronaldo.
Man Utd were already in free fall, let's be serious now. Humorously, they moved from 6th to 3rd the season he left. Ronaldo holding them back? Obviously not, they have been shit for years.

Ronaldo wasn't the problem for us, the guy scored 100 goals, but his signing was part of wider questionable recruitment and use of finances.
