Messi is like Lebron, Cr7 like Jordan. Lebron is more talented, unselfish and likes playmaking. Jordan was a pure assassin.

In the end it comes down to the clutch and in a big game ain't nobody taking Lebron over Jordan. If you have one game to win it all you pick Cristiano, as most sane basketball fans would pick Jordan.

Still doesn’t come close, sorry.
Totally agree.

Messi is skilled at dribbling pass the whole farmers league and retiring from international duty in the face of pressure.

The highlights moments in Messi career is:

- dribbling pass the whole farmers league
- get tattoos To look toughter
- retiring in the face of pressure and coming back to international football like a teenage girlfriend

Messi is simply incredible. Why we have to act like hes a farm league player just because we have the only player better than him I dont know. Ill say both players were more effective when moved to the center to play closer to goal. Messi as a false 9 and not in a deeper/wider position was deadly. Ronaldos play was transformede to be completely undefendable and I rate him better. Both top 3 players of all time though

You do realize the last goal @Paid-off-Ref posted was against Ronaldo’s own Real Madrid, right?
Yup.
Farmer’s league group of defenders.

Marcelo: so-called worlds beat fullback that has never been tried outside of farmers league. Went to World Cup to get whacked 7-1 by Germany

Ramos: Son of Satan’s gay affair with Osama. Addicted to assaulting fellow footballers on pitch and on TV screen bringing shame upon his family, only to be protected by Madrid’s businessmen AKA referee’s employers.

Against small teams like Alaves, Getafe, Saussolu, Empoli I would prefer Messi. He loves to score against them.

Against big teams of course Ronaldo. The bigger the team the stronger Ronaldo became. I am 1000% we wouldnt get past against Ateltico last year with messi instead Ronaldo, maybe we would have won 1-0 or something. The last round Messi turned himself was 2013 against Milan.
His teammate Nonexistentpenalty was more crucial there

Wow more evidence to how underrated Higuain really is.
Gomez too

You do realise Messi scored two against our mean defence in 2018 (and was unlucky not to get a hat trick)?

Chiellini missed the game and we had to play 2017-2018 Barzagli alongside Benatia not mentioning De Sciglio..Our defense is shit without Chiellini that’s why we made it the primary area to improve (try to at least) last summer

Fine.

Messi has scored 12 goals in 19 games vs. Italian teams.
Against English teams he has scored 22 goals in 30 games (setting up another six).

Go on and nitpick every one of those teams and tell me how this isn't impressive.

I am not part of the debate but I just like the fact that Messi never scored against Chiellini :D

I disagree, Messi has never done anything close to as breathtaking as Ronaldo's bicycle goal.
lol what is your standard for breathtaking? no of course messi cant leap 9 feet in the air because he isnt physically capable of it but he can dribble an entire top level professional team and chip their GK without breaking a sweat.

id say thats pretty spectacular.

Messi is the GOAT

I get that dribbling is fascinating and some kind of eye candy, but in the end dribbling past 9 players like Messi has done or what Son did month ago, is pretty selfish and has nothing to do with the team. If you could pull it off constatly and getting tons of return, then it would make sense but other than that, it's pretty damn selfish to try those since you could easily get past +3 players with a simple pass instead of risking losing the ball. I could count the amount of times some player tried to do little bit too much with the ball, lost it and caused a goal in their own end, it has happened to everyone and it happened to Messi as well, atleast against PSG during the KO stages of Champions League.

People really can't use that selfish factor against Ronaldo when it comes to Messi vs Ronaldo since im pretty sure Ronaldo is way more of a team player than Messi is. Passing the ball on the pitch little bit more often doesn't make you a team player, especially when you're far out of scoring chances. All those other aspects of the game, like being kind to your team m8s, being able to play with anybody and just simply being a better leader, better at motivating your team m8s anywhere you play at, makes you way great team player since it's all about getting the results done and Ronaldo definitely has gotten results done, wherever he has played at. On top of that, im pretty sure Ronaldo gives little more distance covered to the team, he defends all corners taken by the enemies and so on. I'v had the image of Messi being the ultimate team m8 just for his close friends, he has that little circle around him, Alba, Suarez, Pique etc being best mans on his weddings but when it comes to total new players, new team(i.e ARG) etc, it feels like he's nothing but a little bully out there. It feels ridiclous one player have had such an impact on all the player, coach changes etc. as Messi have had. They had those same coaches being part of Barca and Argentina etc, then simply playing his Suarez v2 copy during the NT games from Boca Juniors instead of Aguero, Dybala and such. It just feels somewhat weird for me to like the guy as much i would like to, just because there's definitely something weird around him. It might be the fact that he's such an introvert or it might have something to do that he's narcist as Ronaldo is when it comes to winning the games, but he does it way more selfishly than Ronaldo does, just because where Ronaldo does it on the pitch, Messi does or tries to do it off the pitch.

Messi is definitely talented player and has taken the absolute max out of that body he has, but he isn't nothing but a La Liga GOAT. By judging purely on the football abilities, he's way more close of being the GOAT than result wise, but Ronaldo edges everybody on both aspects and therefore, i think there isn't any discussion for me to be part of atleast when it comes to GOAT status.
