Ranieri wins Molinaro praise

Cristian Molinaro has thanked Claudio Ranieri, his former boss at Juventus, for unleashing him at the highest levels.

Molinaro was a favourite of Ranieri during their time together in Turin where he became a regular at left-back.

Although both have now left Turin, the former Salernitana stopper has praised the current Roma tactician.

The Mister gave me so much, on a human level too as well as on a tactical level,” said Molinaro, who joined Stuttgart on loan from Juve in January.

I thank him because he proved to me that you don’t need to be a world star to wear a shirt as heavy and important as the Juventus one.”

Ranieri was dismissed in Turin towards the end of last season after a slump in performances and results.

But Molinaro has quashed speculation that he was an unpopular figure within the corridors of their Vinovo training base.

No side has ever played against their Coach,” Molinaro noted.

Given that there were only two games left then perhaps the situation could have been handled differently, but this is football.
