They have the option to sign for an amount of money that is to be agreed between the two clubs, Is that too difficult to picture..
That's what they call a loan.

If the two clubs haven't agreed on a price, then there is no option (written in the contract). Of course, "option to buy" could very well mean that Stuttgart have the opportunity to buy the player, just like anyone else. ;)
