I read in the Daily Express (english newspaper) that hernan crespo said that joe cole can become better than Zidane, has anyone else read something like this, or was it jsut made up by this newspaper

joe cole is pretty talented.he can play on the wings,in the centre of the park,he can dribble,he can cross,he can be used as the playmaker..very talented indeed.he's the only english player i like.its early to compare him with zidane though.only time can tell.

I think Joe Cole is a very talented youngster. I think it is normal for Hernan Crespo to praise his own team mates. Look at some other teams that always compare Frank Ribery as the next Zidane even though they play at different positions. Hatem Ben Arfa as the next Zidane. Messi as the next Maradona and Robinho is the next Pele. Always comparison happens!! Especially when a teammate always say that their teammates are better than others. This is just a boost for their team.

You know Joe Cole crossed to Crespo in the league match against Fulham that allowed Crespo to clinch the 3 points for Chelsea. Crespo won it for Chelsea. Of course he thanked Joe by saying that he is better than Zidane. Coz he doesnt know how good Zidane is as he never play with Zidane before. And even if he gets the chance to play with him now, Zidane wouldnt be as good as last time anymore. His age is starting to betray him already..

But I believe Joe Cole has improved so much under Maurinho and he is struggling to hold down a regular first team place due to the players that Maurinho have in his disposal. But Maurinho always can count on him to tear opponent's defence as he is very skillful!!

they are so differant players imo, one is like a attacking midfielder, other is attacking forward.....imo Z has more skills.

Hehe I know what you are saying Byrone. I am just saying that he is talented and Crespo praised him because he crossed for him which allowed Crespo to score the winning goal. Crespo might have said that because he wants to praise his teammate.

Of course he is not as good as Zidane yet. He is not proven that he can conquer the world yet! Crespo praised him and compared him to the best player in the world because most footballers do so..

Joe Cole skills are good but reputation and achievement are no where near Zidane of course!! I agree with that...

yes cole is a good player and can achieve great things
but when a player is asked about one of his teammate , he will always showers him with good things even buffon said that chimenti is a VERY GOOD goalkeeper.
