after a winning era then came 1987 when platini quit and the heroes of 1982 got old . The Juve mnagement then entered a state of confusion hiring the likes of gigi maifredi who Ranieri remindes me a lot of him . they even brought in ian rush and the inter left over such as altobelli and serena.

so then we were banging around in the uefa cup and coppa italia which we won many times . But never managed to win or even come close to winning the scudetto and hence the european cup.

i see a lot of resembance in 2007 to 87 and it will take some people like moggi ,bettega and lippi to lift this club up again...may be in 2015

This season is not supposed to be a season of glory anyway. Every club has its ups and downs and Juventus have to rebuild slowly.

I can see why you are worried.. We all are.. The period between 1987 and 1992 was not the best in Juve's history. These periods happen in any football club.
We have been relegated, had to sell our players very cheaply and an over all financial hit of 250 million euro.
On the other hand, we dominated and won the Serie B. We did alright for our budget in the merkato and we have a good start of the season which may see us through qutie well..
Livorno, Parma and Cagliari are serie B material?? Maybe, but there aren't so many differences between the top 8 teams in Serie B and the bottom 8 teams in Serie A. We might not have the squads depth of Inter Milan, nor the squad skills of AC Milan but we do have the spirit and the motivation to do better. I'd rather take the team unity over the squad skills. Look at Vieira's declarations regarding his team mate Materazzi. No respect between them. No management to unite them together. When a each player on the team is only playing for his own, the team cannot win continuously. We play as one unit. One team. In addition, we have players like Buffon, Del Piero, Nedved, Trezeguet, Camoranesi, Chiellini, Zanetti, iaquinta..etc who are world known champions if not the recent world cup winners. The very same players who love the shirt they are wearing and respect the fans they are playing for. Ofcourse there are outburst that comes now and then, but thats normal since they are human beings, but deep down inside them they are motivated enough to produce the best quality of football for their fans, the team and themselves..

So lets put our worries aside, have faith in their abilities and support the team..

We have excellent team, although Del Piero is a little bit too old and the fact that we need another, at least very good CB (I think that Grygera could do that job). Team is reconstructed and need just a little bit more time.
About Ranieri, I don't have faith in him, but somehow I just hope that he'll reach his peak in Juve.
What fears me, are that Moratis' youngster-refs, I mean, just take look at game against Cagliari...

"The Sum of All Fears"

Yeah. Sometimes I think the same way. I'm Juve fan since 1994 so till last summer i've never seen anything but strong Juve.
But talking about the 1987-1992 period there has been few great teams like Milan, Napoli, Sampdoria and yeah.. Inter. And if there has been any posibility to beat the last three then to beat Milan has been simply unthinkable.
Now the situation is a quite different. In the last 5 years Milan had a great team (and still has). I mean they played on three CL finals as they won 2 of them so this team will definitely stay in history. But now some of their great stars are getting old and it will take a time to replace them. So maybe soon we'll see the end of this really strong team.
As for Inter they are the strongest team in Italy now. They won two scudetti in row :D .And 2 Italian Cups. But how many years they can stay at the top?! One more year or two?
We already started to build a team for the future. The other teams that are doing the same IMO are Fiorentina and Napoli. So we should expext sth from them.
Roma are strong now but can they stay as they are to become stronger? :confused2

:D they could do enough to earn a top half finish the way they are playing. we got lucky against a side who did much better then us.
Luck may give you a PK, luck may lead you to score a goal or keep your sheets clean after numerous hits on the post.
Luck doesn't make you lead on the game 3 times. Doesn't make you suffer two so and so penalties and surely doesn't prevent a penalty in your favour.
We played bad, but lets not say luck won us the game.
The points were earned thanks to the likes of Buffon, Chiellini and Camoranesi. Thats the idea of having great players in your squad, a glimps of brilliance for any of them could win you the game.
