Born in Palermo and his father is from Cape Verde (transfermarkt says he is part Brazilian but I don't believe that is the case).
Either way, Cosimo is a very Sicilian given name, and his surname would originally be da Graça, which is a Portuguese religious/honorific name. Should be pronounced "da grassa" but most Italian commentators say "da gracca" because the cedilla (ç) has been dropped for a regular 'c'. I think that's what he is known as now.
