[Coppa Italia] Juventus - Roma (26 Viewers)

I didn't see the game but even so there are a few things that are obvious to me. First of all, we NEED a new centre back. We lack depth in that position and Cannavaro is the only world class player we have there. Kovac is solid and Thuram is inconsistent. Secondly, Tacchinardi IS better than both Giannichedda and Blasi. He isn't great but he's better than those two and what's more he's a just Juventino. Lastly, Alessandro Del Piero should start for this team.
It was a day(night) to forget, it didnt started well(snowing) our Captain was there to save our pride though,we dominated the midfield,had the possesion and determinated the course of action,but Roma controlled their defence and ours too,thats whatn really matters,
Capello IMO was the main responsible but,it was probably a choice to loose the cup now,
some ratings:
Abbiati->5.5 He isnt that good on one to one chances,we souldnt allow that
Zebina->5.5 Not a good day,did some mistakes, cleared the ball a couple of times too
Thuram->5.5 One of his worst games in the season,althought he didnt do any lethal mistakes,(he turned the ball back twice when he souldnt)
Balza-> 5.5 in a not impressive day too,much less involved than usually
Pessotto-> 4.0 This man is done,Mancini owned him completely
Neddy-> 6.5 Dominated the game first half,got tired second half
Blasi-> 6.0 He had a decent play,could have been more if it wasnt that horrible control at 43' of Second Half
Emerson-> 6.0 average the time used
Ghianni-> 5.0 was he in the field?he dissapeared
Olivera-> 4.5 he was there, but not for playing football though(its .5 because of that one good try)
DP-> 7.0 MO(our)M, our captain did his job!
Mutu-> 5.8 many mistakes,some good tries,but his runs were without purpose,his passes all wrong,shoots on keeper and shoots wide.
Zalayeta-> 5.9 he had his moments,he was all alone,but he tried, he fough and offered what we can ask for a player of his value,but he just wasted too many good chances
Capello 4.5 even if u want to loose, do it with style,he tried some players normally wouldnt dare to think of a starter place(Olivera,Pessotto,Zalayeta,Gianni)
and when they sucked completely he waited...
we conceded the first, he waited...
second half started, he waited...
finally he left the wardogs(Emo+DP) play and they did the difference,
they could probably do more if they had a litle more time...
another thing is,he didnt reacted on the spot when needed, it was very obvius Pessotto couldnt handle Mancini, IMO it was a wrong decision from the beginning,he sould hurry up and correct, if not with a substitution but with a tactical change or even internal changes.
Another problem was that our run and cross tehniques,wich are working well with our defensive play wasnt the case today, as we had 6-7 players all the time at Roma's side and we sould use them more wisely than order them to cross to the all alone Zalayeta,many crosses were cleared and then created the counterattacks and that eventualy led to the goals and our defeat,
he sould do smth (on the tactical level) to change it,it was Roma's only chance to win us with those players.Though i excuse him because he might wanted to loose the cup and he was probably forced to use those tactics because Roma were leading and were defending their lead with 9 players,
he sould have two man between Mancini and Abbiati but the way the first goal happened,(a two phase counterattack, found Mancini in offside position) was probably smth he didnt pre-calculate...

Agreed.....tachi was a juventus player and had quality....yes not maybe world class playet...but now i really see how we miss him...gianni and blasi arent good...they can only waste time, especcialy blasi...this guy keeps the ball when he should pass, and when he pass he passes it to opponent player....his crosses s-ck also......
