Betan and rabiot should be our go to guys on the midfield.

The rest to see what they will do but this. 2 guys have a great balance of technique, youth, agrresiveness and defense

so near future holds something like this maybe?

cuads - De Ligt - bonucci - AS

bentancur - pjanic - rabiot

dybala - ronaldo - d costa

capable of switching between 433 and 4312. I love it and Sarriball style might actually work with that midfield/ setup

no khedira or matuidi in the center and the option for costa to drift wide at any time to devastating effect prevents teams from shutting us down so comprehensively just by clogging the middle.

again we are a bit short on quality depth and, have no alternative to costa, but this could work provided we stay injury free :baus:
We desperately need another speedy winger. A younger and less injury prone version of Costa.

Pjaca could have been the one if his knees were not made out of wet tissue paper.

Just watched extended highlights. Who hit the bar with that long shot?

And what was the formation in attack and defense? @MikeM
Pure 4-3-3. Costa and Dybala hugging the line when we had possession in our half. Dybala creeped central when we got closer to goal. In defence, the 3 CMs were tight and Dybala was dropping back to cover RM for the rare times Udinese had the ball. They swapped wings for like 5 minutes.
