I think you're being too harsh on Nocerino. He's immensly talented, he's just too reckless and hotheaded right now. He's got the ability, but he needs to calm down a bit. His contribution is still big, his continues hunting of the ball and covering space is of great use and will be of even great use. His game is subservant, he serves the better players. He's there to complement the creative minds in our team, to cover for their shortfallings going backwards. Sadly, because our offence from midfield is below-par, Nocerino's role gets trivialised.

Nocerino's perhaps headless, but energetic performances are still a long way ahead of that of the ballless and gutsless performances Almiron and especially Tiago showed.

Thats why I think he'll be a world class player and one of the best. But you really can't be there unless you improve your passing skills, I mean half of the season is already done and he still didn't improve.

You're right about his ability and his contibution from covering space into running alot and etc. But it's just annoying watching him passing like an immature player.

Oooh Tacchinardi used to pass really well. His long passes are just something I cannot forget 90% of his long passes went to Del Piero

Alessio was pretty damn good in crossing, shooting and passing. One of the reasons Lippi kept sticking on him and one of the reasons he was called several times for the NT.

The guy was very good in tackling (although he was kicking the leg much more than the ball) and he had a very strong shot.
Overall he was average at most.

The difference could have easily been seen after his midfield partner Davids left. We were absolute rubbish with Tacchi at the center. And then again the difference could have been seen when Vieira/Emerson replaced Tacchinardi.

He was a hard worker and with his work rate he completely deserved his place in some of the greatest Juve teams. But to say that he was a damn good passer....

He would look a lot better if we had a good passer beside him to take responsiblity for distributing the ball like Pirlo does with Gattuso.

As it is, Nocerino is forced to play harder passes than he should have to and so his weakness is exposed.

There are times when he's attacking from the flanks or times where he needs to cross the ball like the (zanetti's ones to dp vs lazio)... and he isn't capable of that.

You play for such a team like Juventus and you can't pass the ball properly??? thats something!!

He wasn't beckham in crossing, but he was crossing well when needed. He was indeed a good passer, yes.

Gattuso has like 7-8 years more of experience (CL and WC) than Nocerino. This is Rino's first season not just in Serie A, but in a big team. When players like Tiago who are much more experienced than him fail to adapt, you have to admire the fact that a 22 year old is not just playing decent, but is actually working hard.

where was Gattuso when he was 22? or Makalele? these guys reached their potential in thier middle to late 20's. Only Essien in my recent memory comes to mind as a DM who was already WC in his early 20's.

From what I've seen Sissoko isn't bad in crossing and can pass pretty well. I could be wrong though, thats why I think we should wait to see how he'll adapt.

I'm sorry, but I'm not the one who is comparing Gattuso and Nocerino. I don't care how good Gattuso is and I don't really give a damn where was he 7 years ago. All I want is to see Nocerino improving.

Tacchi was never a great passer. He was in the team for his work rate and ability to break up opposition plays. His passing is better than Nocerino's but still nothing special.

Sissoko isn't a good passer either. He's a destroyer, nothing more. He's excellent at doing the dirty work in midfield but his technical ability is sub-par, hence why he's never scored a goal for Liverpool.

Zanetti > Sissoko, Nocerino and Tacchinardi when it comes to passing.

I remember very well that there were statistics in past showing that Tacchi had the more complete passes in percentage than anyone else in the team, or as a number, he did make passes more than anyone else. But he no way was a crosser!

The simple passes make these statistics the way they are.
This year Nocerino is statistically our second best passer if we count the number of passes and in percentage Zanetti has as many completed passes as Nocerino.
But in reality things are different.
Nocerino has 543 passes and 404 of them were completed passes ( 74.4% complete passes). This doesn't look bad at all but when you watch a match you see that things aren't as good as the statistics show
