But at the same time we have some good players that are not playing, as for the CL spot, I have faith that we will take it. We are a good team and I think we can only be better.
i was just thinking about this when milan match ended. I think the winter break is good time for some of our rivals, like milan, they can start fresh next year, with some new young blood and kind of get their acts together. I expect milan to challenge more after winter break. So the question really is, will viola start dropping. Cant forget udinese as well.

We absolutely must make a impact transfer during the winter break, not another tiago/almiron case. Its clear we can get better, but we need to get some players for that.

Maybe even a loan swap including one of almiron/tiago and a defender to our direction.

I like it, and it is Legrottaglie that gets my choice not Chiellini.

Actually, come to think of it, why not try something like this:

Buffon
Birindelli Legrottaglie Criscito Milinaro
Salihamidzic Tiago Almiron Marchionni
Iaquinta Palladino
That looks good but I think Del Piero needs the minutes (unless Ranieri wants to start him in the Serie A game) and DP-Palla up top wouldn't work which is why I put Palla on the flank.

Also, I was unsure about Legro since he hasn't missed a game in a while and Chiellini had a break when he was suspended. Another option is the usual Legro-Chiellini with Criscito at left back.

I have said it many times and I will always say it, Fiorentina will start losing points eventually. Udinese too. I also expect Milan to get their act together and do better after the winter break but still their teams needs a lot to reach the top four.

Back to topic, if we are to fight for a CL spot, winning Coppa is a nice thing to bring in silverware to the club after the scandal. We can look at it as our CL this season.

In my opinion we need to forget about Inter and Roma. They WILL finish in the top four so let's ignore them and focus on the threats to our CL spot, such as Udinese, Fiorentina and Milan. The Scudetto would be lovely but top four is our realistic goal.

i hope viola have a good run in uefa cup so they might have to rest a player or two in upcoming matches. Beside they would be more tired then.

If Boum-Boum was ok I'd play him there. That's why I wanted to know if he was cleared to play.

gol is showing the game? That's crazy. Anyone know if rai is going to pick it up?

This is how I would play it:

    buffon

    sali - legro - chiellni - criscito

    marchionni - tiago - almiron - palladino

    trez - DP

well it's 3 days later but ya i do. That's why zebina, molinaro, neddy, sali, nocerino, zanetti and iaquinta should be well rested. I actually want to win coppa italia this year. You can bring iaquinta on in the 65th minute so both trez and iaquinta don't play a full game. Or even start biri at rb.

Says what? That Del Piero is Coppa quality player and not Serie A???

Ranieri thinks highly of Alex, he may be keeping him on the bench but thats because you can't keep an inform Iaquinta out.

Del Piero is a key player for Juventus and Ranieri knows that.

Where did I say DP isn't serie a material? DP hasn't been starting the past couple of serie a games and as long as iaquinta is playing this well I don't see DP starting. So since DP won't likely be starting next sunday against atalanta he should start here to give iaquinta or trez a rest. If raneri wants to start DP next sunday, then rest DP now and start iaquinta.

Why would we rest DP now when he hasn't been starting the last couple of games, where as iaquinta has been. So DP will probably be a little more fresher then iaquinta.

I'm guessing If thats what Ranieri thinks....not you.

Like I said Iaquinta is a player I wouldn't want to see on a bench If he's in-form and playing this way. But there's a rotation, and lets not forget that there are some games like the Milan ones, you can't always depend on Iaquinta when you have someone like Alex.

IMO, Iaquinta should start the Coppa alongside Palla, rest David and Ale for serie a game and we're on it.

As of right now our serie a games are more important then our coppa italia games so I would rather have our in-form strikers (which you just pointed out were trez and iaquinta) playing the serie a games. Later on as coppa italia progresses things might change.
