I just joined this club at our school called Model United Nations. It sounds kind of nerdy:) but its actually pretty cool. We go to different conferences and represent countries just like the real thing. We might go to Alaska next month. I hate Michigan weather- I don't think i can bear going to Alaska. Anybody have any clubs at school like that? Just wanted to know.

My sister did this Model UN thing in Den Haag twice. She said it as very interesting experience.

My school didn't offer this kind of stuff.

No, every year Harvard has a huge MUN and universities from all over the World attend it
Ah! That seems like a club for more normal people.

If you could pick, what country would you be?

They give them out at random, but Id chose an European country because theyre the most stable and people dont give them as much trouble as they give the people thats representing the USA
Maybe also Japan or Canada

I went to a mun when I was in junior year in high school and I was Ecuador (I think) which sucked because I didnt really have more power and I couldnt cause trouble

Its a fun experience

Seems kinda rough for the kid drawing the U.S. Could be a pretty rough day for him.

I've never heard of this kind of thing here, seems kinda fun.

Yeah always the people that get the US, Uk, China, Iraq and some other Middle Eastern countries are the ones that have the hardest time

Seems kinda unfair, some kid getting a mental beating cause China won't go democratic or terrorists in the Middle East. Guess it's part of the fun. :D

Aw man. I wish Malaysia would have such clubs. Its a shame we dont, I'd have loved to be in it.

Well clubs Im involved in school .. not much but I was part of the debate team and my favourite was the drama club... drama competitions are such fun and we nearly swept all the competitions we participated in.

I guess the most active in Malaysia - or rather KL - would be the Interact club (which Im also in); under the Rotary club. Its quite a nice club to be in, just to do some charity work here and there and contribute to society.

If you like those kind of clubs, then you should join amnesty international- Urgent Action Network. It's pretty cool helping people. You also learn alot about politics and experience in writing.
