If i had to choose, Country! But more often than not, players dont have to make a decision really. Schedules are pretty well sorted.

It depends.

If you country is pretty solid at football, then country. If you country sucks ass and you're just a exception, you club.

Thomas Radzinsky chose Club before country. At that time he was playing the second round of the CL with Anderlecht, and stopped playing for the Canadian team.

I guess it all depends of the level. it's not worth to risk your big club carreer with matches in a Crappy NT.

But then again, if you're brazilian, argentinian, italian,... it's wonderful to wear your national jersey.

If I really had to choose, I think I'd go for Country. winning the world cup, is I think the greatest dream for any football player

The World Cup was, and still is the ultimate prize in global football.

Your right, everyone will always love playing for there country...but if the CL was also every 4 years would that not be bigger then the World Cup? I believe so, I think people love there club more then there country, I'd much perfer Roma to win the CL or Serie A, then Italy win the World Cup or Euro...

No I don't think the CL would be bigger than the World Cup even if it were held every 8 years.
I remember being in Milan with my dad the day Argentina beat Italy (1990). The whole place was worse than a graveyard. IMO the whole of Italy was like that too.

See, whenever your club looses, people always find the inner strenght from somewhere to pick up and move on. In 2 days max they are up and running.

    But when it is country...

    June 5 1994...

Until that time I had always supported Italy when it was time for football. But that was the day I finally confirmed that I had Nigeria in my blood. No one in my neighbourhood even had the courage to smile for like a week after that (even my mum who is so anti football caught the bug, and that's something that club football can never do).

Who was in England after they lost to Brazil 3 years ago? The general mood was worse than it will be when the Queen dies.

THAT IS WHAT NATIONAL TEAM FOOTBALL DOES. And club football can never get there, except probably in the USA.

Its hard to argue against this, mainly because of the 4 year difference. Also, you using a wrong example. If Italy lost in the World Cup final, it would obviously be worst then for example in Roma lost in the CL final, simply because there are fans of other teams in Italy, but would the mood not be more or at least similar if you went to a place where only Roma fans were?
