you never heard of jardel? the guy used to be a scoring machine at galata when hagi was there to assist his brazilian ass
I missed this post. Maybe you forgot about him but not to have heard about him? He was one of the hottest strikers in europe. I always thought he'd end up in La Liga during his stint with Porto, the guy scored like a goal per game.
Yes yes, Alin's post made me remember him. Totally forgot about him, still remember his Hagi-Jardel days though.

"Loyalty" in Football is something that you can't meassure at all.

You can point to players like Del Piero and call them loyal, but its pretty easy to be a loyal to a club that's playing at the top.

Do you think players like him, Maldini etc would of stayed at the clubs they were at, if they weren't the clubs they were?

So I don't know really why people look down on "Club Hopping players", firstly some people might just enjoy playing in different cultures/clubs?

I think Buffon is a prime example of loyalty he could've left in 2006 and he would have been a first choice at any club in the world but he stayed with Juve.

Well that surely isn't the case with Buffon, Alex and Nedved. Or have you forgotten Calciopoli?

And do you really believe a football professional would give a fuck about cultures when jumping ships from a club that has well made him who he is. It's almost always the money. But don't get me wrong im not saying footballers shouldn't jump ships when their respective clubs just don't meet their ambition anymore. But Im against the ones who do so as soon as the ship starts sinking rather than help out when not so long ago he was the one drowning yet his club stood and helped out.

Yeah, but at the same time it was obvious Juventus was gonna get promoted at the first time of asking, it's still easier to be loyal to a successful club.

The real examples of football loyalty are players who've remained their whole carear at clubs who weren't winning trophies every year who had other options, ala Totti, Gerrard as examples.

But again, even those players had it good at the clubs they were at.
