Milan in top form in 2003?
we were the faves for the final.we had been in much better form.
milan had a crappy season in the league where they came 3rd.
we were the faves for the 2003 final against milan, but the old final phobia came to haunt us again.
though nedved being suspended can be called bad luck.
Get your facts straight...

Milan were the Winter champions and started to slip in Feb./March. They came up with some ties and injuries (Nesta, Pirlo) and the title began slipping...they even beat Juve in the second match.
Crappy season?? They came in second and in the last 4 games played the second team which explains the gap in points from 1st to 2nd.
More over, everyone including the kitchen sink stated that Milan played a better final than Juve even when they played in 10 men for 15 minutes (Roque Junior limped off the field with 10 minutes left) Juve could not get a shot on net.
Dare to mention the group of death they TWICE came out on top of.

Man I can't take this Johnny Come Lately fans anymore who don't know Juve life before Imbrahmovic

++ [ originally posted by Cronios ] ++we have class,
You realize Juve won two CL titles...

one in the bloodiest match in history and the second in PK's...

right?

You also realize the last CL cup they won was the year that they used EPO...as proven in court.

Yeah...the team OOZES with CLASS :howler:

Although Milan perhaps had the better run of play, we actually came closer to scoring when Conte hit the bar, if that is anything to go by.

Milan played better than Juventus in the final, and yes they also deserve credit for playing with 10 men for a certain period of time. And yes, maybe you are right about Milan not having a crappy season.i guess i chose the wrong set of words.
the point that i was trying to make is that with respect to the CL final itself,Juventus started as favourites.Juventus peaked in the CL at the right time after sloppy performances in the group stage and they did start the final as favourites.nedved being suspended was a major blow, but Juventus started the match as favourites to win.Though Milan had the better outing in the final and they deserved to win.

fair enough although Europe is just not something Juve has been able to conquer

That was about the only attempt they made...Buffon saved Juve's arse a few times that game one of them being the last minute save on Inzaghi's header...

oh yeah the ball did go in during the first 15 minutes but it was called offside :groan:

in all honesty,i think that goal should have stood.and it wouldve opened up the game too.if i remember correctly,it was dissallowed becasue inzaghi was obstructing buffon's view.it wasnt a regular offside decision i think.i could be mistaken though.
