Lets call this game what it was... a step in the right direction for Ranieri.

He sent out a sensible 11, with an experiment in Grygera that paid off well.

He made sensible substitutions...
1. Sissoko for Nocerino: I thought Momo was well on his way to a second yellow, just because of the way things were going... clearly Ranieri did too. Smart move.

2. Zanetti for Tiago: Obvious, best CM was hurt and had to be replaced.

3. Del Piero for Iaquinta: DP was great, but getting worn down... Iaquinta brought in a physical edge that alarmed the Genoa defense and kept them from mounting much of a comeback. Good sub.

To me, the next big test is coming, and that is what he plans to do against Napoli.

I agree. His lineup choice is going to be crucial for the Napoli game, especially because we miss a lot of important players (Camo, Legro, Zebina, Zanetti) I think he should field an attacking lineup and press them hard from the start.
