Maybe you cant,But if we dont qualify for the CL,it would make us look worse than the situation actually is because the people out there will go 'oh thats the club that couldn finish in the top 4 of this league?.The failure of Italian teams in Europe this season makes finishing outside the top 4 more poor than it actually is.
I agree that the failure of the Italian clubs in the CL will tarnish the image and quality of our league but we cannot use someone elses short comings or failures to justify/minimalize our own.

Ranieri is not the manager for Juventus and he will not be the one to lead us back into the spotlight. Our impatience and criticism does not come without reason. We are all accustomed to be at the top of every list and involved in every cup tourney. The mediocrity which we have faced (for what is now almost 2 years) is something that this club nor its fans have ever experienced. Therefore C-Ra will catch the burn for the shortcomings which he, Secco and our B.O.D. have created.

Yes I do agree that it will look bad if we do not even finish 4th in Serie A after this years CL tragedy. Thus rightfully so the blame will fall on the coach. But we cannot forget that our goal this year was to be somewhere near or at the top of the table and to possibly gain a CL bid by seasons end. I will be the first to admit that I predicted finishing anywhere from 5th-7th on the final table this season and looks like I may be right in my prediction. We needed to focus on our team instead of other agenda's and our club has not done that at all this campaign. Squandering matches that should have been 3pts for us, not playing with a lineup that has been proven to work even though its been 7 months almost. These are just a few examples of how Ranieri is not getting the job done and why we can't begin to marginalize and compare our problems and justify to downplay them when it comes to the issues that other teams are facing.

We have to worry about ourselves before we concern ourselves about others.

Just to collect some money for ticket to Italy and we`re ready to go.In about 15 days so we`ll go with Andy also.
Great. We'll meet up at the Piaza Della Nova in Milan so the authorities won't suspect anything. From there on, we'll take a train to Turin.

Ranieri escapes Lippi shadow
Thursday 6 March, 2008

Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has insisted that Claudio Ranieri's job is safe despite rumours of a return for Marcello Lippi.

The Bianconeri have performed poorly since the turn of the year and are without a win in three matches.

As talk of a crisis grows Lippi's name has cropped up more and more often listed as a possible replacement for the Tinkerman.

But the Old Lady President has been swift to deny that the World Cup winning Coach is being lined up for a third spell on the Juve bench.

“Lippi is a dear friend of mine but a dossier to bring him here does not exist,” promised Cobolli Gigli.

Vice-President Jean-Claude Blanc assured reporters Ranieri would remain at the Turin giants even if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

“We have a medium to long-term project with Ranieri and his staff,” maintained Blanc. “We intend to go forward like this.”

Ranieri answers Juve critics

Claudio Ranieri reacted to criticism from Juventus fans by reminding them where they were a year ago and looked ahead to the Genoa match.

It has been a tough week for the Bianconeri boss, who was lambasted by sections of the Ultra after the 3-2 defeat to Fiorentina reduced their lead in third place to just one point.

“When you are in charge of such a big club it is only normal that negative results will cause unhappy grumbling. I have been doing this job for too long to be surprised by what happened,” said the former Chelsea tactician.

“The fans will certainly have their own reasons, but I don’t forget where Juventus were 15 months ago. In any case, I accept only constructive criticism. The ones I don’t consider valid or relevant will just be ignored.”

Ranieri replaced Didier Deschamps after the Frenchman had guided them to victory in the Serie B Championship after Calciopoli had them demoted.

Juve general manager Jean-Claude Blanc reassured his Coach this week that he had the full faith of the side.

“I was pleased with Blanc’s comments, but I already knew how he viewed the situation, because when we first met the plans were clear. Now we must push and try to achieve those objectives. We cannot let one match wipe out everything we’ve done up until now.”

The Turin giants have the opportunity to get back on track against high-flying Genoa on Sunday.

“This is a difficult match, even if Genoa always give their opponents space for a few chances. We have to do well in order to make the most of them.

“The squad is united, as always, and tomorrow I expect to see a great reaction, as we often have after a defeat.”

Cristian Molinaro is out of this game due to a bout of influenza and Pavel Nedved is suspended, but Giorgio Chiellini returns from a ban.
