I like Vialli too, but still not sure if he can take us to the top
May be he can't do it this season, but strongly believe that he can take us to the top next season, but if Ranieri eventually stays till the end of the current season and may be take us to the Uefa cup, then I'm sure the board won't sack him in this case and we should wait some more seasons until the team management realizes that ranieri is sucking from season to season, So I prefer it to happen now than some seasons later

Ranieri: Everything is going fine!

we can thank geoff for the inspiration of the new thread name

I want Rijkaard :(.
you need your head examined

Vialli and again Vialli or at least Ferrara
Vialli?do you even know a thing about his managerial career?

what convinces you that Vialli can take us to the top?is it his title winning credentials while in charge of Vhelsea?oh wait

ok so maybe the massive success he had at Watford? oh...wait

or maybe the high demand he has since then?oh ...wait

Vialli is a great man, was great player and a great pundit but management material he is not

rijkaard certainly wona lot of things with barca but his tactics were more often than not over-adventurous, naive and self-indulgent

we would need a complete overhaul of our squad, playing style and transfer strategy

Ok if you put it that way, then I need my head examined :p,but it would perhaps give us the style of football we all want to see but like you said we don't have the financial poweress to achieve it.

oh don't get me wrong i would love to see a free-flowing,attack-minded Juventus and with Rijkaard we would get it but even with super Gigi in goal we would still manage to lose games 4-3.
the main obstacle though is almost certainly the lack of funds we currently have, anyone know a mega rich dubai based conglomerate that would like to invest in one of world footballs most recognizable brands?

Yep but like Andy said on paper we have a strong side, change the defence abit and add a creative midfielder(Diego,Modric) and we would be laugthing.I just really wish we would spend big next summer.

the problem is in the next year (or 2 at most) we will need to replace nedved, delpie, trezeguet, zanetti, camo, possibly zebina and we all know that zanetti will be the only one that is actually replaced since he is a DM

look at juventus through history and tell me in all honesty, how many players have We groomed through the youth ranks, farmed out on loan,re-called and turned into stars? not many

the whole reason for juventus having such a top-class youth system has always been to tempt other clubs to pat company with their top-class,serie a proven stars. the fact that we have now pinned our hopes on ageing stars and unproven kids tells us so much about the state of this club we love

So true, but you realise over the past few seasons we have been unable to capture world class talent so now its time to turn to home grown talent imo.

We may have lost a lot of money post Calciopoli but our so called 'lack of funds' shouldn't be an excuse for our transfers. Honestly, with the amount we spent and perhaps could've spent we could've gotten ourselves a pretty damn good team to compliment the old guards and youth.

medical bulletin:
Camo and Buffon out for at least 3 weeks.

I think this might be good news to some of you who want to get rid of CR asap.

I say, lets give him a chance against Jose ;-)

That is not the worst thing in the world imo. Its the support structure behind those players that is really weak. We have average players all around the field that are support those two segments you mentioned. Thats where the problem lies imo.
