Ranieri: «The best Juve against Bate»

Claudio Ranieri is ready for another “first” in his career as Juve’s Manager: a Champions League away game. A month almost to the day after the draw in Bratislava in the qualifier and two weeks after the win over Zenit, the Bianconeri are in Minsk to face Bate Borisov, the unknown quantity in Group H, the team that could cause a few upsets.
That's why the Belarus team, who are taking part in the top European tournament for the first time, mustn’t be underestimated. Manager Ranieri knows how dangerous they can be and he was clear about this during today's press conference with Alessandro Del Piero: «It's a crucial game; we won the first match so we want to do well in this one too. We have the utmost respect for Bate, they’re a young team, playing their first Champions League home game, and therefore they'll want to do well on their debut in front of their fans».

The Manager then explained what the dangers could be, demonstrating how well he's studied his upcoming opponents: «They were without their two regular strikers in Madrid, but they should be playing this time. Plus they did very well in the qualifiers. They're dangerous when they can play on the counter-attack and they're good on stopped play situations, as they have tall defenders who come up, like they did against Levski Sofia. These are opponents to be respected, that's why I'll be playing the best-possible Juventus line-up. When you play different tournaments, the best-possible side always plays, because the most important match is always the next one».

The Champions League allows everybody to forget the League for a few days. But the two draws in a row are on everybody's lips even thousands of miles from home, particularly the assumption that Juventus are having problems up front. Ranieri sees it this way: «First of all, let's try and separate the League and the Champions League. It's true, the stats say we're not scoring a lot, but the team created many chances, especially against Catania. We're not doing very well in front of goal, but the important thing is that we're not letting many in. Sooner or later the goals will come; I've never worried about this».

i will keep my criticism towards our coach at bay for the time being. he hasn't disappointed me as much as the entire squad as a whole has thus far this season

the "loveable loser" is wearing thin on my patience

I agree...we'll never win anything with this clown, and we are only wasting time with him in charge
He wasn't brought here to win, dumbass. He was brought here to build a team with our youngsters. If you can't endure 3 seasons without a trophy, then you're nothing other than a peanut brained gloryhunter. That goes for everyone else too.

Nah, it's everything Ranieri's fault. The players are not guilty at all for being lazyasses, disheartened, error prone and can't complete a single pass. It's all Ranieri's fault but our players are the heroes. I'm tired of this idiocy.

:howler: i love the way they keep saying "we created so many chances vs. Catania"...what about the games vs. Sampdoria, Cagliari and Udinese? the offence was piss-poor in those games too!

Anyway, the players and staff all seem to be really keyed up for this game...I'm sure 10000% sure we will see a brilliant performance

god this guy shits me i honestly want to know what goes through his mind during and before matches, he clearly doesnt no what he is doing!

he must be able to change formation as well as players. a good coach makes a formation to suit his players not the other way around!

I always try to reserve my judgments about our coaches until later on in the season but i am seeing the same mistakes from last year. Even though i am disappointed i don't think he should be sacked because it will do worse than better for the team.

Just like the players, the coach needs to lift his game. He proved to us that he can win the tactical game against his peers but he hasn't showed us that in the teams against the smaller teams.

No one should disrespect any Juventus fan , but especially not players (Molinaro) or coach..
i didnt say anything about molinaro, although i think he's not in the level of a juve player, but thats not his fault,he is doing what he can,if he isnt good enough the coach should see that....but ranieri, come on,he acts like we're not playing for scuddeto!
