He had contract until 2020, earning 3.5m. Keeping him until the end would cost us around 14m. He probably got a big chunk of this years salary as compenstation, which is understandable.

Honestly good for him. Sucks that he had to leave, but it was obvious that Allegri had no intention to play him. Perhaps he wouldn’t be registered for major competitions. Ultimately, this is great for Claudio, albeit bittersweet. He gets the compensation he deserves and gets to do what he should be doing, playing football. Perhaps he can revive his career.

Marchisio doesn't deserve to rot on the bench in the last years of his playing career. Good decision for both Juve and Marchisio.

I just wish there was a proper sending off.

Now that does not make any sense.

3.5 m is net income for Marchisio, Juve is paying him around 7m (or even more dunno what is the actual cost for the company, but thats the gross value). so in 2 years its around 14m.
