I clearly said that he was "subpar at best" against Parma, and I reognise his shortcomings in recent games (although they often weren't nearly as bad as people here make them out to be).
Today however he was not bad, not MOTM, but solid, brought himself in good positions which nearly resulted in a goal twice.
Btw, Ancelotti just said, that Juve bossed the first 45 minutes because of "Pogba and Marchisio". Take that, haters. But Ancelotti's just another mindless fanboy, right?
Fuck the 3-5-2, fuck playing Marchisio as RW when you have fucking Giovinco on the bench.........Fuck 3-5-2 and of course, last but not least, FUCK the 3-5-2

Pogba and Claudio were a big reason why Real couldn't play their game in the first half. Vidal was destroying Real in the center, but Pogba and Marchisio prevented Real from passing the ball to their strongest players. Our pressing worked exactly because we closed the flanks. But it took so much power off those two and we paid the price in the second half.
Playing Marchisio on the wing was a tactical decision, and a smart one considering we were faced with two amazing players on the flanks. Players who cost Real nearly 200m euro. But it also showed the difference between us and the strongest and richest teams. We were actually forced to play Marchisio as an attacking winger with a main task to defend his side of the pitch.
He is a great player. Probably not world class, although he has the potential IMO, but great nonetheless. Perhaps it's just our respective definition of "great" that's the problem here.
