You'd think his tendency to pick up unnecessary, retarded yellow cards (often near the end of a match) would have disappeared over the years, but it really hasn't. Such a shame.

Still, not too shabby to have such a complete player coming up through the ranks.
I was hoping to see "misses next match" below his name after he got the yellow but a shame really.

Was an interesting choice by Conte.

Normally in Serie A this season, Marchisio has been the one holding deeper while Vidal has been given the freedom to burst forward.

Used them the other way round last night, though, presumably because he thought Celtic posed more of a threat down their left side.
Marchisio's penetrating runs are better, and since we'd have fewer chances we needed to make the most out of them.

Or maybe because he thought Peluso could offer more going forward than Lichtsteiner.

I'd say it had to do with Izaguirre being better going forward than Lustig. Neither of them were great, but Lustig was clearly never going to dribble past a player or cause much of a threat. He looked like a centre back playing at right back.

I think his last 4 yellow cards were picked that way. When the match was already won. He'll miss Roma because he got a needless yellow when we were 2:0 up against Fiorentina. He missed the decisive group match in Donezk against Shakhtar because he got an even more needless yellow in 85th minute when we were 2:0 up against Chelsea. Then that yellow card against Nordsjaelland when we were 3:0 up and finally, yesterdays yellow at 3:0.
It's not a coincidence anymore. Yes, it shows that he gives his all till the last minutes, but sometimes he has to be smarter.

Focusing on Marchisio, Vialli said: “I see the authentic Juventus DNA in him. He’s a restrained personality, his effectiveness on the field is outstanding and he has the ability to not make a mistake when it matters.”
