Did anyone else notice a good range of passing from Marchisio tonight? There were some serious passes played into Pepe and Lichtsteiner at times, was really quite impressed.

I'm also so damn glad that he's improved his shooting, I remember 2-3 years ago when everything he touched went stupidly high no matter what range he was at.

He's the sort of player who needs a kick up the arse now and again. Last year he was just in the team doing a job, either filling in on the left or acting as a link man in midfield, floating through too many matches. I couldn't quite put my finger on why his performances didn't match his talent, but I think he had no real idea what he was supposed to be doing.

Now Conte gets him in a headlock in training and tells him to drive through the midfield, keep the 3 man midfield ticking over, and place shots like Kaka.

Honestly, I never thought Marchisio could be WC material in the past, even if I always rated him unlike the mass, but Conte is seriously doing wonders to this boy. Our best player of the season so far.

I will call him invisible when he is invisible. I will call him great when he is great. Right now he is beyond great and deserves credit for it.

This whole season he's been very impressive.
