As for his original positon it is indeed a CM, regardless of in what formation that is. Be it a 4-3-3 or whatever he should function well, which at times he done very well and recently not so good.

Again, point is, I like the guy and I want him to stay but at the same time I can't help but notice how ridiculous it would be if he gets double his wages on an extension for a contract that still has 3 years left on it and performances that just doens't justify such a thing.

Grygera has cost us a lot of games - his mistakes are back breakers. He was our worst player in 2008, and he's still here. Plus, he's still earning pretty good cash. Grosso, before this most recent game, has really offered us very little. Amauri went almost a full calendar year without scoring a league goal.

Those are players who help add to the instability of the club. They earn huge dollars - which is one of the reasons we're strapped for cash - and they're not even fit to be squad players.

I would like to pose a question here: If Juventus had the possibility to bring a very good or atleast better cm than marchisio at the cost of selling/benching the future leader and captain of the team, would you do it? Is he really worth a key player status or even the armband? Are his performances that good? Bear in mind that he's not that young anymore to be labelled as a prospect, and that despite what ahmed said he HAS been a regular over the course of past seasons.

I'm sure as hell i'd sell or bench him in a heartbeat.

I like your comparison would De Rossi, he's overhyped as hell. I wouldn't think twice about it. I don't think he's a player who should be a leader nor somebody who deserves a starting XI in a top team. Many players would do better for us, many.

I don't give a flies fuck how they call me really. I'm at least showing my opinion and claiming he's simply NOT something he's being described as. Leader? Key player? Consistent and a pillar of this team? He's still in my list of favorite players and he's there for 2 years at least but please, give me a break. It's not bad to take off Juve goggles sometimes. Many people are seeing Juventino in him, only cause he's a youth product and how he's heart of Juventus. Maybe, he is. But he's not showing that on the pitch at all.

Actually, players like Ekdal should come back and I'm sure we'd get to see more from him.

I've had this discussion a couple of times, and here's where I stand.

Nobody on this team is untouchable. But our chemistry is poor already, and even if people here don't think this guy is a leader, obviously those on the team, and within the organization think very highly of him. They do.

I wouldn't want to sell him right now because we don't need to destabilize the team anymore than it already has been. We have other areas where we should prioritize our spending. He's a good player, who makes a relative pittance, and frankly, I think we'd be selling low right now anyway. I also want to see him with positional continuity in a functioning team.

If we sign another player who pushes him to the bench, so be it. There should be WAY more competition for basically all of our positions.

That being said, we have a ton of needs that we need to spend big money on, so I would target those spots first (RBx2 - or 1 RB, 1CB), LB. Than a mid, or three (depending on Aqui and Sissoko).

We'll see what type of quality arrives.

It's all over Giovinco's case. When he was played as a LW people said he's not supposed to be there. Same with his AMC place, or AMR, or even SS position.

It's used for Marchisio now. Left side is not his natural position (while he did even WORSE while playing as a MC, which is his natural place). The other group says he's great in 3 man midfield. I mean, c'mon...

Melo has quality and he gave this team much more this season than Marchisio, despite their freedom being cut down.

Some people have been saying that he's a better player while on the wing, too. Let's look at the numbers again, bar this season, he offered as much on his 'natural' position.

Maybe he tries but it stays at that since I've never seen more than two killer passes from him. His passing is good, maybe, but only short passes. Same passes that also suit Melo who's a DM.

We all know the problem with Melo : poor discipline.

When he's on song he's a beast, when he is poor, he is downright Mottaesque, hazardous to the team.

Even though he has a quite simple job description at the centre of the park.

Beyond that, I don't think 2M is overpaying him - which is what I think he should be earning. We have no legitimate contract figures yet, we'll have to wait and see.

I do think one can argue that he's been underpaid for two seasons. Especially comparatively.

He may have deserved a better contract a time ago but certainly not now and more importantly not with 3 years left on his current deal.
