Tardelli heaps praise on Marchisio

Juventus legend Marco Tardelli is a big admirer of Claudio Marchisio, the 23-year-old Italy international who plays at the heart of the Bianconeri's midfield.

Marchisio has really started to establish himself as a regular for Juventus and is fast becoming a favourite of Marcello Lippi, the Italy Coach.

He's a lad I like a lot. The last time I saw him was in Turin with La Nazionale in the match against Bulgaria. Marchisio is not just a promising player he is already a great one,” Tardelli told Tuttosport.

Asked if Marchisio was a throwback to his own style of player, Tardelli replied: “I don't like these kinds of comparisons. Sure, he's a complete player, like I was. Perhaps he is even more professional than me. After all, I wasn't all that great.”

Speaking on his birthday, Tardelli went on to discuss Marchisio's best quality as a player.

He can cover every one of the roles in midfield, on the left, the right and in the middle. He'll play wherever you put him. He always guarantees a high level performance and resolves a lot of problems for Ferrara,” Tardelli concluded.

Marchisio and Juventus are back in action tonight when they travel to Genoa looking for a win that will allow them to leapfrog Inter into first place in Serie A.

To be honest I like Marhcisio play more than Gerrard. And if marchisio reaches Gerrards level it will be awesome. Marchisio is more rough, agressive, more elegant with ball.

I love watching this man develop, and he is developing realy fast. Very happy to be able to see such a player from his youth days and his careers start.

Forza Marchisio!

2009 has been an incredible year for him. Starter for Juventus, called up (and starting) internationally, and some nice goals. And he is our youth product.

He needs to find an ability to shoot from distance to be compared with Gerrard.

Yes.

You going to argue that I like Gerrards play more?

I'm not talking about the level they are at, it is obvious that Gerrards is much higher. I was talking about the way they play their game. And I like Marchisio way better, that is why he is my favorite player and not Gerrard.
