I don't understand those who think he's the best CM we've had since God knows when and that he is certainly gonna be a world class leader for our team in a few years. He doesn't look like one in my opinion or at least he has not shown signs of becoming one. He's already 25, even in a pathetic Juve he did not manage to single himself out as a player with a promising future. Chiellini did, Marchisio didn't. But I also don't understand those who think he is, quality wise, far from being a starter in "this" Juve.

He is not that good and he is not that bad. He could well be a starter (yes, even over Vidal) and he might even have his ass benched for Pazienza. He could be very useful to the team depended on the circumstances and he could easily disappear in some other games. A reliable squad player for a top team, a player who can fight for a starting place in our team. So my advice is to stop bombarding his thread week in week out. It's not outrageous if he starts and it's not unfair if he gets benched. That's exactly what Marchisio is.

I though Marchiso was alright today, until the last ten minutes or so when he tired and gave the ball away a couple of times.

Stayed safely behind the ball, making simple passes and allowed Pirlo to go and do his thing.

:agree:

That's when he picked up a slight knock on the knee.

Exactly, and as simple as it looks, I think that's supposed to be his job. He also contributed a lot to our game against Parma. Compared to the past few seasons, it seems to me that he finally has his role defined by the coach and it's a good thing IMO.

Hoori, do you like Conte so far?
I didn't see any pre-season game but I was/still am against the idea of hiring inexperienced coaches when the team is in the transition phase and need quick achievements. We had a decent mercato and we have started the season really well. So I'm satisfied with what Conte has done to the team, not only because we are topping the league, but also because I've seen improvements in our team. Don't know if it's enough to finish the season with our main goal accomplished though.
