No goals scored. He's having a poor season compared to last. His shooting has been atrocious.

He's defensive contribution is vital of course. Not implying he is not important. Just his shooting

The guy was rotating with Pirlo. Now he plays every game. Bound to be better when he has more time to rest.

last season he played 35 games (33 starts) and a total of 2865 minutes in Serie A, played the SC (120 minutes), 4 games (360 minutes) in Coppa and 12 games (11 as starter) with 997 minutes in CL. thats 52 games (49 as starter) and 4342 minutes

this season he played 20 games (all starts, with still 9 games to play) and a total of 1735 minutes in Serie A, played the SC (90 minutes), 3 games (267 minutes) in Coppa with 1 game to go, and 5 games (all as starter) and 406 minutes in CL, with 6 games to go. thats 29 games (all as starter with 16 games still there) and 2498 minutes

if he plays all the remaining 16 games for full 90 minutes hes still gonna have less games and minutes played than last season. so yeah, your totally right

Nigga was injured, think Hist meant intensity rather than games played over the whole season.

but thats not what he said. he said you play better with more time to rest. Marchisio missed 5 games the entire last season. this season he already has 12...
This year he missed consecutive games through flat out injury. That is very different from resting between games, being subbed out when exhausted and things like that. A player could miss 15 games consecutively in the season and then play every single minute in the end. Like Scottish said, thats very high intensity.

Or alternatively he can miss less games in terms of numbers but get actual rest when he needs it.

I don't even know why you are disputing the point. If you have a player that can fill in for you, the coach will be more comfortable keeping you rested without affecting team results. If there is no adequate substitute for you, the coach has no choice but to field you every single time when you are not injured. Thats so obvious its a truism.

he played all but 5 games last season. where is the rest inbetween games there

also, all im saying is that your previous post is wrong 100% and its not the reason why Marchisio was better last season. if he even was, its not by much, and it obviously doesnt have to do with resting. if anything, its because of the injuries this season. but what you said is simply not true.

He gets subbed in and out every few games. But you are right it didn't happen enough for it to justify why he was better last season. And I agree that he is wasn't better by much.
