Maresca was a very talented player, more so than Marchisio. His issue was mental; he lacked discipline and heart, hence why he failed here.
We had strong midfield back then, very good midfield trio consisting of Davids-Tacchinardi-Zambrotta, so it was very hard for a youngster to get decent playing time, something that he needed in order to develop. Marchisio's uprising can be very much attributed to Calciopolli and lack of good midfielders to challenge him for the spot.

Maresca was good player, still remember his equalizer vs Torino in the last minutes and his reaction.

Maresca.....

are we talking about Enzo Maresca here, the one that played for us.

or is there another one that was here before my time. If you are talking about Enzo then no, he was not better than Marchisio, even though I liked him.
I cant believe people are talking about this.

A decent squad player whose only claim to fame was celebrating with the "bull horns" vs Torino.

No one is saying he is a better player. More talented doesn't equate to being better :sergio: :wallbang:

Marchisio is definitely the more complete player, and infinitely more disciplined and committed. However, had Calciopoli never happened, Marchisio wouldn't even be playing for Juventus right now.

Also can someone quote the source of the man u offer?
It seems to be one that has grown out of nowhere through different sources quoting each other.

Just had a quick look and you've got Calciomercato quoting the Independent, the Independent quoting the Daily Express and the Daily Express citing 'sources in Italy'.

Don't know what, if anything, was the original source in Italy that they refer to.

Actually, this may be the source of it all:

Calciomercato are such amateurs. They don't know basic things regarding currency; 20m euros are equal to 25m pounds.:sergio: Or British pound suddenly depreciated on the market or the government devaluated it as a mean to increase export of goods, increase production, etc...This morning.

Moyes ha pronta un'offerta di 20 milioni di euro, circa 25 milioni di sterline
