Thought he did very well. Marchisio even though not a regista has the tackling ability and speed factor over Pirlo. If he continues I could see this as a perfect way to transition out of the regista dependent formation with Marchisio playing as a dm. His passing is really underrated. While he doesnt have the long balls like Pirlo, he distributes play and switches the play on the flanks very well.

Marchisio covers an alot of ground. Playing him at dm would allow him to push higher up then pirlo because he has alot more speed and tackling ability as i stated before

Well at this moment we seem to be doing fine without Pirlo. Eventually we will need a winger. I really like the idea of a 4-3-3 with vidal-marchisio-pogba in the midfield with tevez having a free role and getting a winger to stay wide and provide llorente crosses.

we saw last season against bayern that when someone neutralizes pirlo we have absolutely no creativity. now we have tevez but we need another creative winger/AM/SS. then we would not need pirlo as marchisio is more needed for that...
