[CL] Werder Bremen - Juventus (18 Viewers)

I saw most part of the match and i have to say that Bremen is the deserved winner of this game!
3:2 is not a bad result, but when you consider how we played yesterday i think its kind of a joke!
the first half was very poor as Bremen made much pressure on us, and we missed great chances (Zlatan, Viera) horrible.

Something to Zlatan, he says he wants to win the ballon D'Ore in future but he is simply miles away, when you watch him wasting golden opportunitys and you watch Barca - Chelsea and look at Ronaldinho you see who is the worlds best, its simply fantastic to watch Ronaldino!


the 2nd half was better and we turned the match somehow around still it was not deserved but i thought typical Juve, but when we got another 2 goals and lost 3:2 i was very pissed!

how can a team like Juve conced 2 goals in 5 minutes? I think at the moment we are weak in defense esp. at standards (freekicks). But the biggest mistake is that we let our opponents create so much chances and put pressure on us, the best defence in the world will break down sooner or later if you hammer them down if there is no tomorrow.
I have to make a compliment to werder, as their attitude is simply great, they never stopped attacking and in the end even if the goals were lucky they FULLY deserved the win as they worked for it for the whole 90 minutes, not like Juve just 30 minutes!

I think our whole approach is wrong, it seemed to me as a typical Juve CL away game, we simply do nothing we wait until we conced a goal, the opponent is agressive and we lack every kind of agressivness and determination.

We can argue the Juve can turn around this result, which might happen and we can beat Bremen and qualify for the next round but we simply don't have what it needs to win the CL if we do like yesterday.

I don't understand it, we made the same mistake like last year (and the years before) against LIverpool, we simply say we turn things around at home, but you are not always sure of that as we saw it last year.

In the end i think we may beat Bremen and qualify for the next round but with our attitude and our style of play we won't win the CL this year!

i think that our defense is not the problem its more our style of play and our attitude, with only sitting back and doing nearly no counter attacks its hard for a defense not to concede goals! IMO if you give your opponents lot chances to score they have a higher quote to be succesful! Its important to take some pressure from the defence and give them time to recover while we are doing a counter attack.

Every defence would make mistakes if you put them under pressure every minute!

i dont think we should panic, w lost to bayern 2-1 away (3-2 is better than that since we have two away goals) and then we beat them at home 2-1, and bayern are better than breman, we played bad yesterday, but have faith in the boys, we will win

Hmm where to start, i think the best is to start with the midfield. I am the only one who thinks there is no chemistry at all between Vieira and Emerson? I mean I have been told and its been said by Capello that they are the best midfield pairing in the world and yet I am yet to see them dominate any team that we have faced. They are meant to be great defensive mfs but Werger Bremen managed to cut thru us like knife thru butter. You do not necessarily need to have to greats , if they do not gel then they do not gel, they are nothing like the Davids-Deshamps-zz combo at all. In fact they are quite pathetic together compared to their reputations. It seems when 1 is in form the other is poor and it happens way too often. I mean one of the best patrnerships I have seen is Vieira and Petit cos they gelled. Cole and Yorke are one of the best ever partnerships in attack i have seen cos they gelled, individually they are not as good as way too many strikers but together they were up there with any combo

Now to Blasi, i was quite gobsmacked to read someone call him class and becasue of that, i cannot read that person's post anymore. I mean everytime i see him either warming up or in the starting 11 my enthusiasm just goes down and i kinda lose interest in the game cos he is far away the worst player in Juve .

Kovacs has played in Germany and i am assuming that he knows the Breden players well so why he did not play eludes me at the moment since we were missing Zambrotta and Chiellini

Thuram takes too many chances and i blame him for the first and i think second goal, the first he and Blasi make complete fools of themselves and allow the player to backheel between them and the second he brings the ball forward, had the chance to release, delays and loses the ball , it goes to throwing and i think they win corner from there and score.

Incerdibly we lose goals from corners all the time like Liverpool

I hate to think Mutu was on the bench in fact until i read on here , i thought he was unavailable cos it will be criminal to think that with him there, and the way Bremen play offside, Capello didnt think to put him to expose thir backline

Snoop I am extremely disappointed to read you say thatZlatan deserved to finish the game, you want him to completely ruin the team's chances cos of what? He was awful by his low standards this season, lack of confidence and indecisiveness.
How can you say Trez should have been subbed, the chances and half chances he got, he made great use of them unilke zlatan who was passing to people that were not there or completely missing the target with only keeper to beat.

As for Capello, well, Bremen might not put us out but I cannot see us winning Cl with him in charge

Balzaretti had a horrible game and kept getting caught out of position but unlike Blasi, he is redeemable.
We cannot do much about Emerson and Vieira, personally id drop 1 for Nedved.

Wouldn't have expected you to take part in this drama. We haven't lost anything yet, more so we have a good chance of progressing. No way Bremen will pull a Liverpool, they can't nearly defend as well as Liverpool did. Besides will Capello, despite all his alleged faults, make the same mistake again?

The team approached the Bremen game wrongly, granted. Yet on '85 minutes we still looked like sneaking away with the game. Only some freak defending on two set-play's in the final minutes gave Bremen the victory.

Missing Vieira in the quarterfinals would surely matter.
