Another thing, marcelo should have been sent off for sure. He made a hard tackle on DC from behind with both feet, not playing the ball at all. No yellow. Later he got one for stopping a clear counter, but that should have been his 2nd

In long-term, we couldn't have gone out in a better way than we did today. This will give management, the team and the organization the hunger for revenge and success in this competition. For the next couple of weeks however, this is going to hurt tremendously. I can't help to think that we would have won the competition would we have advanced today, no way we would be beaten. We came to the Bernabeu, put Real on their knees, could have potentially scored 5/6 in THEIR stadium. I can't recall any team coming back from a 3-0 loss home deficit, or even coming close to advancing. This team and its fans should be so incredibly proud of today's achievement and this should give the team the confidence again (that they seemed to have lost after last year's final) that on a good day, we are at the very least a top 3 team in this competition.

Our CBs were exposed a lot of times in the first half, I'm still not entirely confident with even the best pairing we can put out there. One CB needed.

Need two CM as well, ideally we need to play with three midfielders

Then RB

Picky but I think that's really the only way that will make us reach new heights
Exposed against the best attacking team in football, but at the same time, shut them down quite effectively for most of the match. I'm pretty happy with Caldara coming in and having another year of Rugani developing, as he looks like something special still imo. Both do. Chiellini-Benatia is on par with any CB pairing in football.

I'd like two CMs as well, but what I mean by 1 world class CM, is that having Pjanic and Vidal (for example), you'd be able to field Khedira, Matuidi, Bentancur as the third midfielder and your midfield would still be fantastic. All of Khedira, Matuidi, Bentancur would look far better than they currently do as the third midfielder in a trio.

RB needs to be resolved. As shown again today MdS just doesn't cut it.

I think what i'm mostly saying is that 1 World Class CM and 1 world class RB would improve us a lot, given what we saw today, and what we saw last year in the knockouts, even if we could use further reinforcements beyond that.

2009-2013 (before Bayern murders the flour in them), Barcelona was the cashcow. They played uberfootball which generated lots of money, they had messeh, a huge fanbase, and needed to go as far as possible each year. Since Barcelona declined, Real is the club to push. They also have a fancy diving style, a Ballon dor frontrunner and a huge fanbase of clueless monkeys that generate lots of money. Its simple, UEFA benefits the most with these clubs doing well, so they help them.

In 5 matches against Real Madrid under Allegri... We have been given 3 red cards and conceded 2 penalties. What a joke.

I agree in a way. This will give a lot of the players a real pride in the club plus a hunger to avenge this. Buffon, Barzagli, Lichsteiner perhaps will retire but players like Sczezny, Matuidi, Benatia, Higuain, D Costa, etc will bring this hunger forward and inspire the newer players like Bernardeschi, Rugani, Caldara, etc

Higuain can satisfy his hunger with a nice lamb doner on the bench, for games against Real and probably Bayern and Barca going forward we need a #9 that offers something in the way of a threat.

He's too slow to turn his man, not technically gifted enough to take people on 1v1 with any consistency, he's average at holding up the ball and he's the least threatening striker in the air over 5'7 I've ever seen.

Never used to want it, but i'd prefer Dybala as #9.
