Stat of the day: (For Alen)

For the past four years, champions of CL got eliminated the first knock-out round the next year of winning the Cl in. 03/04 winner Porto got eliminated by Inter 04/05. 2005 Winner Liverpool fell to Benfica in 2006, Barcelona 2006 Winner, got kicked out by Liverpool in 2007. Milan the winners of 2007 were eliminated by Arsenal straight after the groups stages 2007/08. Will Man.Utd face the same curse against Inter?

    What you think Alen
    please discuss

2004, 2005 and 2007 winners certainly weren't the strongest teams in Europe when they won the CL. Porto sold most of the players after they won the CL, Liverpool weren't world beaters anyway and Milan's team was already in decline when they won the CL, with an awful season where they missed out on the CL spots following in 2007/08.
Barcelona deservedly won in 2006, but after that Rijkaard's team started falling apart.

Manchester on the other hand deserved to win the CL and they're going strong again this year, unlike the previous CL winners who didn't have a good season after the CL win.

the two teams i fear the most are facing each other. that's all that matters
Will be one huge game that's certain, I would love to watch it, hope it's not the same time Juve will play.

The "curse" can still go on for this year too, anything can happen in knock-out stages, but on paper sure Man.utd is better than Inter, probably the best in Europe, but that's not enough, some times one mistake, one lucky moment can ruin everything.

I read this on Champions magazine, and you came to my mind straightly, I thought I should share it with you, you know me and my view on stats :p

Yet I see Inter destroying them.

I have the feeling that Barcelona will choke against Lyon, I know they are in great form and all, but I feel Lyon can make it.

btw I voted for Juve by mistake :pumpkin:

Inter can eliminate ManU, but it won't have anything to do with some "curse". :)

Snoop, thanks for sharing but i knew about this long time ago. Plus, Inter fans keep talking about the curse and they keep comforing themselves with it ever since the day of the CL draw.

If Mourinho stops the "curse" from entering his players' heads then they will live up to the curse. I too don't believe in the curse but I do believe that Mourinho knows how to tame Ferguson.
