No he is not, Only Buffon is irreplaceable.
as a player right now yes but give it 2 or 3 years and all that just might change.

and as a member of the team he can certainly be replaced.

i think we were ripped off in the 30 million quid deal for a man who sits in goal and blocks shots all day however good or consistent he may be.

32m is alot for a goalkeeper, I agree, but when I hear about transfers like Ferdinand to United for 30m I can't help but think that we were lucky.

haha of all the teams ;) :D

but he would be shielded from italian football imho. like robbie keane was. its hard to explain but a lot of foreigners(to the league more than to italy)who come to inter it feels like they dont really get a feel for calcio and serie a.

as opposed to players like carew at roma.

Lilianna, I have some good news for you. You're not going to be able to see Del Piero play, but you might still be able to see him. I read on Juve's official site that Alex has decided to travel to Greece with the rest of the squad rather than to stay at home.

thats nice to hear :)

PS: i feel there is too much chit chat in these threads  it becomes tough to browse through the whole thread to find news thats pertaining to the actual game .

Im not trying to impose myself or point fingers at anyone... i just think that these Match related threads should be match related as far as possible. Not just this thread but almost all the Preview/Result threads have a lot of stuff that has nothing to do with the game

i feel that the members can chat after the game as much as they want, but its a pain to flip page after page looking for posts that talk about injuries / tactics etc when most of the thread is just full of "LOLs" and smilies.

sorry...i didn't mean to offend anyone. just stating my point of view.

erm guys..... i was reading the Reggina-Juve thread and i may be mistaken but it seams to me that our defence was :undecide: and we were being lucky again.

If this is true, i hope we somehow fix this before we play aginst Olympiakos. Goal scoring has been ok for us up till now.... but the defence seams to be the wori.

That so un-Juve

Do you ppl think Miccoli will start vs Olympiakos ?

I hope he starts but I don't think he should play on the right wing. I would love to see a trident formation with Di Vaio and Trezeguet up front with Moccili in support :p

but since its an away game, Lippi will probably field Trez as a lone striker.

Good to see Leggro back .... our defense is my main worry.

i dont think micco's ready to start a cl match at this point in the season with juve. i'd send him up at half time though if things dont work out.

i guess im a little conservative/cautious but our target man formation against reggina did great. i dont see why it would be a bad idea against olympiakos

Nah it's not ;) In the league we had 4 goals against us, and as Lippi said, they were all episodes. One came when the score was already 5-0 and everyone was relaxed, another came from a penalty, another from a direct free kick and the last one from a deflection. The only goal that we really made a mistake on was that against Galatasaray, otherwise the defense has been as solid as ever :)

Hmmm maybe the reason for our defence looking like the worst part of our team is because our attack is so strong this season :p, with the addition of Miccoli and DV coming back to (hopefully) his usual self. Though we got Legro, we still need one or two more good defenders in order for our squad to have world-class depth and be complete...

As for Mico, I think he has a good chance of starting if he trains well... hopefully!

WTF!?

Listen Viggo, that's your opinion, not everyone elses. If you're not willing to listen to other peoples opinions you shouldn't be on an internet messageboard. That Juve won the Serie A last year is a fact, that Buffon is the only irreplaceable player in our squad is an opinion. You should learn how to separate the two.
Yeah I know it's my opinion so WTF is the matter with you, I didn't ask you to take it or believe in it . stop acting like a stubborn fool.

back to buffon, who do you think the Fvck is responsible and played a huge part in winning that damn Serie A and reaching the CL final, then winning the award of the most valuable Player and best GK. C'mon open your Eyes if we didn't have Buffon we wouldn't have won anything or gone any where. ok let's replace him with chimenti and see what will happen and what trophies we are gonna win. Why can't you understand that we don't have a decent back up for him. while we have for others specially nedved.
Why are you getting into a damn stupid useless argument with me on something i am sure you know quite well.

This is a fact whether it's my Opinion or not and whether you like or not. If you are following Juve like i have been doing through the last 2 season and this season. you will know what i mean. Go download Buffon Action movie & his saves from buffononline and you will see with you eyes that he is damn irreplaceable !!

Soooo ??

Btw We are talking about replacing Him within the squad not buying a new replacement. and yeah He deserve those 30 Million paid for him IMHO. He is the best Keeper in the World now. An advantage we have all over other teams.
