as for the game i really would like to see alex get a shot against a team he scored twice against the last time we played them in 1996.

blasi would be my choice for right back as we need to get comfortable in that position for future purposes. Also this game would do him well experience wise as Rapid play very fast football on both flanks, it would be a good test.

as for our CBs looks like capello is going to play his best eleven soo i guess its going to be thuram and canna.

Capello to select best XI Monday 26 September, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus boss Fabio Capello has shelved his rotation system for the Champions League tie against Rapid Vienna on Tuesday.

The tactician rested numerous men in the 2-1 win at Parma this weekend, but he has today confirmed he will recall his key players for the Stadio Delle Alpi clash.

"I have yet to decide on my team, but I will pick the strongest side possible," Capello stated. "That’s because the Champions League is our principal objective.

"Rapid are a side to be faced with humility and the three points are very important for us right now.

"We are up against a very able side who are a threat on the counter attack with two very fast forwards. We want the points though."

One man who Juve won’t be able to count on is the suspended Patrick Vieira, who was sent off in the 2-1 win at Club Brugge.

"Vieira won’t play but we can’t rely on just one man, even if we are talking about a great player," added Capello.

"We have a big squad this term and we can make the odd change without too many problems."

Capello also dismissed claims that his side may not be totally focused on their European Cup tie as they await the visit of Inter in Week 6.

"We are very focused," he underlined. "Juventus’ great strength is the ability to think about one objective at a time."

The Old Lady have made a solid start to the campaign after winning all six of their games so far this term.

However, goalkeeper Christian Abbiati has been pinpointed as a possible weak point after some shaky displays.

"I don’t agree," defended Capello. "He may have made a few mistakes, but he is a player with great personality and one who offers security to his defence."

Unfortunately I will not be watching this match live due to ESPN's imbecilic and unsatisfactory Champions League coverage. However, I will be watching the match about four hours after it has finished.

I think we will be fine if we just take the game to Rapid, just like we did against Brugge in Belgium. I would expect nothing less than 2 goals for against opposition like this, and being at home we should keep a clean sheet. Abbiati still scares me though and one of these days he might give up a cheap goal that will come back to haunt us.

As for the formation I still favor Mutu instead of Nedved and I'm waiting to see who Capello starts up top and at right-back...it will probably be Blasi and the regular duo in attack. I also hope the loss of Vieira won't cost us that much...especially against inferior opposition such as Rapid Wien.

Marek Kincl should be the man to look out for.
Kincl will not really be the threat. Rapid will come out with their counter-attack weapon Akagündüz while Kincl will try to win any headers, what he despratly failed to do against Bayern. Don`t expect Rapid to be dangerous from the open play. They scored more goals from standards than from the open play. To be honest, we don`t have anything to be afraid of. Rapid is Serie B lavel IMO, and should not be hard to break. I even expect a 4-0 win with a Trezeguet hattrick and Zlatan's first goal.

I think the game will be shown on Livesports 1, which means it will be on one of the following streams:

mms://212.199.221.153/838978
mms://213.8.106.59/838978
mms://213.8.106.61/838978
mms://212.150.36.34/838978
mms://192.114.71.118/838978

They won't work before the games start though.

The last time I watched a game on Livesports the quality wasn't very good.

If anyone has a better stream, plz let us know.

I suppose the people who call themselves Man United fans simply because they are the "best team in the world." These are usually the same idiots who say Beckham is the best player in the world...ESPN likes to make these people happy, sort of like giving candy to a group of mentally challenged youngsters.

You know who really needs a serious rotation policy? ESPN does.

Del Piero Hopes To Play
9/27/2005 7:24:00 AM
The last time the Juve captain played against Rapid Vienna, he scored to help the Bianconeri defeat the Austrian champions 5-0.
The last meeting between Juventus and Rapid Vienna occurred in 1997, in the group stage of the Champions League. Eight years later both teams are set to clash again at the Delle Alpi of Turin, with Alessandro Del Piero hoping to be in the first eleven and maybe even score.

“I wish that history repeats itself and I naturally hope to play and do well. The record is an objective which fascinates me and I hope to reach it as soon as possible, so then I can set other targets," declared Pinturicchio.

Six wins out of six games played (5 in Serie A, 1 in CL). This is Juve’s record so far this season as Fabio Capello’s side intends on making it 7 out of 7 when at the Delle Alpi of Turin the Bianconeri will entertain Rapid Vienna on Tuesday evening.

Impressive and unstoppable are two adjectives that have been used to describe Juventus in this early part of the season following some excellent performances with little or no glitches at all.

A win against Rapid would almost certainly guarantee a place in the last 16 for the Turin-based club, therefore Capello is expected to field the best team out there to achieve an early qualification and be able to focus more on Serie A before the knockout stage starts.

In the first match of the group, Juventus managed to beat Club Brugge 2-1 away from him, whereas Rapid Vienna lost 1-0 at home against Bayern Munich. The last time both teams met was in 1997 when the Bianconeri won easily 5-0 at home and eventually reached the final which, however, they lost against Borussia Dortmund.

Capello is expected to leave Alessandro Del Piero on the bench in favour of Ibrahimovic and Trezeguet, while Giannichedda and Kovac will replace respectively Vieira (suspended) and Thuram (injured).

PROBABLE FORMATIONS

Juventus (4-4-2):
Abbiati - Pessotto, Kovac, Cannavaro, Zambrotta - Camoranesi, Emerson, Giannichedda, Nedved - Trezeguet, Ibrahimovic

Rapid (4-4-2):
Payer - Dober, Valachovic, Bejb, Labant - Hofmann, Korsos, Hlinka, Ivanschitz - Kincl, Akagunduz

PREDICTION

So far Juventus have been an unstoppable winning machine and there is no reason why the mechanism should come to a stop against the Austrian team. A comfortable win for the Old Lady.

Juventus – Rapid Vienna 2-0

What would be your starting line-up Glenn?
I don't really mind who plays though personally I'd like to see Zlatan and Mutu playing upfront together, but realistically that won't happen. I'll just let Cap decide cos so far he has always got it rightand hopefully he keeps it up.
