We need to play a strong side against Rapid...remember, every team that plays against Juve ALWAYS gives 200% effort...we never have an easy game

yeah every player for rapid will try their best as they are playing against a big club like juve.

but i dont believe that resting a few key players should stop juve from winning this one

as players like kovac cheillini and mutu are eager to nail down a more regular place and will also give 100%.

juve to win 2-0

Capello to select best XI Monday 26 September, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus boss Fabio Capello has shelved his rotation system for the Champions League tie against Rapid Vienna on Tuesday.

The tactician rested numerous men in the 2-1 win at Parma this weekend, but he has today confirmed he will recall his key players for the Stadio Delle Alpi clash.

"I have yet to decide on my team, but I will pick the strongest side possible," Capello stated. "That’s because the Champions League is our principal objective.
"Rapid are a side to be faced with humility and the three points are very important for us right now.

"We are up against a very able side who are a threat on the counter attack with two very fast forwards. We want the points though."

One man who Juve won’t be able to count on is the suspended Patrick Vieira, who was sent off in the 2-1 win at Club Brugge.

"Vieira won’t play but we can’t rely on just one man, even if we are talking about a great player," added Capello.

"We have a big squad this term and we can make the odd change without too many problems."

Capello also dismissed claims that his side may not be totally focused on their European Cup tie as they await the visit of Inter in Week 6.

"We are very focused," he underlined. "Juventus’ great strength is the ability to think about one objective at a time."

The Old Lady have made a solid start to the campaign after winning all six of their games so far this term.

However, goalkeeper Christian Abbiati has been pinpointed as a possible weak point after some shaky displays.

"I don’t agree," defended Capello. "He may have made a few mistakes, but he is a player with great personality and one who offers security to his defence."

i guess capello knows which players need a rest and when they need one. i hope all juve players come through the game injury and suspension free and bring with them another victory and so all eyes can focus on the deli alpi and inter

I agree with the fact that the main priority this year is Champions League.
So in my opinion we should play 4-3-1-2:

Abbiati
Blasi - Thuram - Cannavaro - Zambrotta
Camoranesi - Emerson - Nedved
Mutu
Zlatan - Trezeguet

But I think Capello will play:

Abbiati
Pessotto - Thuram - Cannavaro - Zambrotta
Camoranesi - Emerson - Giannichedda - Nedved
Zlatan - Del Piero/Trezeguet

Juventus - Rapid Vienna 3-0
1-0, 29', Mauro Camoranesi
2-0, 48', Zlatan Ibrahimovic
3-0, 64', Zlatan Ibrahimovic

i don't think that the best line up is Zlatan and Trezeguet up front c'mon Del Piero is in much better form than Trezeguet in the two games that he played he scored two and assisted one why should he be on the bench .. one game he didn't play and everybody forgot what he did it wouldn't be fair to Alex if he won't start IMO

but whatever the important thing is to win the match

i think we'll win 2-0 and Alex will score mark my words

This is the ideal position for Mutu to play
Yes. It'll suits him more than playing on the left. Against Parma I can tell that he wasn't that happy for the position he's playing, he never played there before....

That being said, I think we need to start the game with our regular starters, get an early lead, and make substitutions accordingly

DP should start, since he didnt play on saturday, and because he is in good form right now
Agree on the 3points you gave....

We all saw Rapid against Bayern, they were pretty dangerous, So I hope Cap is aware of that.

Well Said, If we were to score early and have an advantage, I'd say we should rest some key Players, Ex(Canna and Zambrotta) for Sunday night.

I also hope Il Capitano will start this game, he's in good form and we'll need his services.

well i didnt know anything about rapid viena but it looks like everyone is underestimating them.

I dont think a weak side would give bayern such a hard time.So i dont think we should just consider ourselves winners, with that great display.

about the formation again i dont think capello would field mutu from the begining as neddy gives us a much needed experience.
Upfront i think alex would suit the formation well partnering zlatan who most certainly would start.

forza juve

CL is principal objective.

Very strong starting line-up needed here.

My preferred back 4 would be Balzaretti--Thuram--Cannavaro--Zambrotta

Midfield

Camo--Giannichedda-Emerson

Del Piero

Attack

-------- Trezeguet---Zlatan

Bench: Bonnefoi: Blasi: Nedved: Chiellini: Zalayeta:Gladstone:Kovac

Then when Glasgow Rangers play Inter merda, I will look for Samuel and Materazzi to get some of their own medicene. A couple of late, high tackles on Figo and Veron would not come amiss.
