Trez has Reds in his sights
Juventus striker David Trezeguet is determined to feature in the UEFA Champions League tie with Liverpool on Wednesday.
The prolific French forward appeared in the first leg as The Reds secured a 2-1 win at Anfield, and, after being ruled out of Saturday's trip to Fiorentina, is keen to appear in what he termed 'the match of the year'.
An ankle injury has prevented the former Monaco man from reclaiming his place in the starting line-up at the expense of either Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Alessandro Del Piero, and Trezeguet admitted that any kind of involvement would satisfy him.
The Bianconeri's star hit-man has also missed a large part of the season with a shoulder problem, although made a telling contribution in the previous round as he came on to score an acrobatic effort against Spanish giants Real Madrid.
"I still have pain to my ankle," Trezeguet told L'Equipe.
"It is impossible for me to play at Florence but we will do everything for me to be present against Liverpool, it is the match of the year.
"It is impossible I miss that encounter, I think I will be on the pitch on Wednesday.
"Even if I start on the bench it won't be important, I could always come on as sub against Real Madrid.
"I will take care of my ankle, I am optimistic, I have to be."
