    GROUP C

Like Roma, confirmed Group C winners Juventus FC suffered an Italian Cup defeat, losing 2-0 to Atalanta BC. Fabio Capello picked an understrength team, Pavel Nedved the only familiar starter - and he left the pitch with a leg injury that could rule him out of the visit of AFC Ajax on Tuesday. Ajax warmed up in style for their 250th European game with a 5-0 Eredivisie win at De Graafschap. Julien Escudé opened the scoring three minutes into the second half, after which Mauro Rosales, Escudé again, 17-year-old Ryan Babel and Tomás Galásek added to the lead. Steven Pienaar and goalkeeper Bogdan Lobont are both out with knee ligament injuries while John O'Brien is sidelined with a pulled hamstring muscle. Defender Johnny Heitinga missed the weekend game due to water on the knee but could return on Tuesday.

The 2nd team did themselves no favours from their performance on Friday night and I wonder how many of them will take part on Tuesday. I'm sure none of us want to risk injuries or tiredness before we play Inter, but I'm sure none of us want to lose heavily either.

    Zebina To Return Against Ajax

Tuesday’s home stand against Ajax will give Juventus boss Fabio Capello the chance to field many second string players as the Bianconeri are already qualified for the next phase.
It will also allow Jonathan Zebina to make his return to action after the muscle strain he suffered in last month’s Juventus-Roma.

The French defender is expected to play the entire match in order to be fully fit when Juventus play host to Inter next Sunday.

    against ajax:

    ---------- Bonofoi
    Zebina- Canavaro-Ferarra- Zambrotta
    Kapo-Tachi-Blasi-Olivera
    -----Zlatan-Zalayeta
Somehow I prefer Tudor to Ferrara.

well, think it all depends if we wanna finish on top or second in the table. though qualifying is the most important thing, but being first or second is quite a significant difference in terms of the teams we might face for the next stage

We r almost certain to be topping the table. So a 0 - 0 draw will be ideal enough to qualify.
