Bayern's pressing was crazy. You need incredibly technical players and excellent off the ball movement to fight that. But noone can play that for more than 60 minutes unless they want to die right there on the pitch.
Their pressing was insanely perfect. Its the best part of Peps tactics. The fact that we failed completely to counter it and not even fight back even a little in first hour is what saddened me the most. We dont have it ingrained in our system as acutely as they do so it would be hard anyways, but to not even try was most disheartening of all. Allegri completely dropped the ball and little no one calling him out for it. Despite the superior opponents been good excuse, he did not do his homework for sure for most of the game.

Our players were pathetic were for near 60 minutes tho (especially the defenders, fullbacks very poor and wtf Barzagli had a shocker...). Whole first half was insanely disgraceful, I can take being bettered, but not even trying was unacceptably pathetic. Basically only Pogba with the extra effort to keep the ball and make something happend on occasion. 60 mins of that $#@!. Then Mandzukic decided to wake up (with huge thanks to Kimmichs gift), and the last magical 30 minutes happend. Good comeback, but we were at home, cannot afford 60mins of PATHETIC COWARDLY DISPLAY. Not a single time any Bayern players being pressured almost. Bizzarely enough the subs were $#@!ing great. Seriously this disadvantaged home result needs to be lesson for 2nd tie. You dont sit back and let them dictate unharrassed, they will just give you headache with how well drilled they are in near total football like possesion approach (fullbacks that go in as CMs, no CBs, huge pressure on wings, basically as expected). Need to test them and unnerve them off the bat in next game, need Chiellini, Mandzukic, Alex and Sturaro if he gets to start, to show them that we set the tone and pace with our physicality. If we wont we will get fvcked alot easier. Since they will be even more attacking at home with their frantic home support.
:agree: That's the key to keeping ourselves in the tie. And for that, we need to rest our key players. So this next month the most important thing would be to rotate wisely.

Don't tell this to that idiot Klin. He thinks they were all great decisions by the ref. :sergio:
It was definitely not a penalty, but the decision on the first goal couldve gone either way. Bonucci tried stopping Lewas run on the second goal and for trampled, would have been a laughable foul to call.

It's entirely possible our game plan to be "ultra defense in the opening 45 minutes, keep the 0:0, and then 'all in' in the 2nd half".
It could be, and it would still be an insanely awful plan, considering the opponents strenghth and how it suited their style to the T. Also there is a difference between ultra defensive and not even trying to win back the ball or move an inch forward together. I got nauseous seeing Dybala telling people to get forward to support him, and Mandzukic playing as LCB for big part of first half...
