You were right about Vidal going to have a big defensive performance against real. :D
And it was all i wanted him to do. I couldnt care less about his offensive game

But that defensive beastmode Vidal, is so goddamn good. And he became it again, just when we needed him too.

I refuse to accept infractions if i talk shit to anyone considering his sale from this point on.

:agree:
The stats backs it up.
Its like, we couldnt leave to much space behind us, but when he had the ball, we immediatly tried to position the team , organised and well, but 30-40 meters forward.

Only in the last bit we kinda sat deep with both strikers beeing 20 meters or further below the midfield

Wtf

He was just fired up, wanted to score more.

I saw a post-match interview with him, and he was all smiles. He said he was proud to play with these players, that he's proud of the team's effort and that this is one of the best phases of his career he's going through formwise.
Oh good. I'm relieved. He's been a model professional but there's no doubt he's a volatile man.

The result is very shaky, obviously, but what I loved about this game was that it never seemed to be a game between the most expensive team in the world (with arguably the best player in the world) against a bunch of underdogs. We were powerful in the biggest test of the season, something we could never even imagine after the display against Monaco.

We also looked shaky in the beginning of the group stages. We developed and tonight we actually looked like a European top 4 team.
I think we deserved a two goal win.

Did anyone else hear the British commentators when Nando was sub'd on. The morons were saying that the two were basically the same player, very similar and it was a like for like change. So fucking clueless.

It was like the English dude before the Dortmund match saying Morata has no pace. WTF.

Do these guys even watch football?

Ok. So, for the 2nd leg, we need to have a 4-3-1-2 in my opinion, and really put them on their heels early on.

Licht-Bonucci-Chiellini-Evra

Pogba-Marchisio-Vidal

Pereyra

Tevez- Morata

And for god sakes, Allegri, rest as many starters as you can. Fuck it. Rest them all.

RM is still in the title race, so they have to put their best 11. Juve don't this weekend.
Agree.
We should rest well over the weekend to go there for another battle, hopefully to win the war!
Forza Juve!!
I think I lost 5 years of my life.
:D
What a match! I love this team so much. It's been such a long wait from 2003. And to win against Real Madrid in our first CL semifinal in 12 years.

 :delpiero:
I'm really proud of this club. We cannot go fully toe-to-toe with RM, but we can give them hell and make them earn every inch.

We've shown we belong in the SFs and aren't going away easy. :touched:
This.:touched:
Forza Juve!!
can someone explain to me how is the carvajal was not sent off for that penalty challenge? he was the last man.

ref was very generous to madrid.
The ref was horrible.
Very decent result, I'll take any win from this one.

Sergio Ramos was fucking awful lol, Bale not far behind.

Dat foul by Chiellini on Queen Ronalda

We can definitely score in Madrid.
:agree:
so drunk

so proud

so fucking awesome!
:wine:
I believe i can fly
I believe i can touch the sky
:touched:
I shit my pants every single time we mess with the ball at the back. Pirlo, BonBon and Chiello need to get that shit up front.
This....all the fans in the pub were shouting and cursing each time the team did it.:D
The legend that is Allegri. Tactical genius. The gameplan was masterclass. End of story.

Three months ago, we were down on Vidal. What a match and return to form from him over the last month or so.

Sturaro. What a CL performance for such a young guy. Lot's of people here doubting him.
:agree:
Allegri prepared the team great!
My favorite moment in the match is when Ronaldo was running off and chiellini just said fuck it and made him fly.
:agree: :D
Stuaro really proved himself today.
For sure!
What a performance tonight,he fought all the game, won battles, great game!!
Kudos to Allegri!

Good performance from Juve and an interesting, intense game.

Great tempo from Juve in the opening 20 mins where they really got after Real. Real tried to press, but did it badly so there was the opportunity for Juve to move the ball forward quickly relatively easily. Real also seemed surprised at how aggressively Juve got after them early in the game and Juve could maybe have got another goal in that good period.

Real (Ancelotti) were intelligent enough to understand what was going on and adjust. They dropped their midfield off a bit and suddenly Juve couldn't play through them and Juve's build-up became slow and sideways and Real were getting the chance to win the ball and break.

There still wasn't anything terrible worrying happening prior to the equaliser, though Real were gradually asserting themselves. Evra and Chiellini don't seem to have communicated properly intially and then Evra has been caught out when Rodriguez darted in behind him. Momentary lapse that you would get away with against most teams. It was also an issue down Evra's side that led to Real hitting the bar: Evra dived in and that caused the whole Juve team to shuffle across to that side. Real moved the ball quickly and well to the other side and were able to get round Lichtsteiner because of the error earlier on the other side of the defence.

Nothing happening early in the second half, but Juve were well organised and trying to press Real higher up the pitch.

Goal comes from nothing and suddenly the game enters a very difficult stage as both teams are aware of how important another goal in the game could be. Juve retreat and hold out comfortably with Real not prepared to risk conceding again to try and force an opening.

Real need to play with more with and move the ball faster in order to threatne Juve more in the second game.

Vidal and Marchisio really are excellent players.

Ramos was hilariously bad.

There were certainly times in the game when it would have been useful to have Pereyra on the pitch, but overall you would have to say Allegri was vindicated in his decision to play Sturaro. Juve had such strength with Vidal in the middle of the pitch that there was never any danger of Real penetrating through that area.

I think some people are so convinced that we always play a certain way against stronger teams (rightly so because of our recent history) that even when we don't sit deep and invite pressure, they can't believe their eyes and our convinced we sat back anyways.
I was surprised too. Mostly because we looked so damned secure and fluid with our passing.

Juve should also be reassured that, while that was undoubtedly a good performance, it was nothing brilliant and they can do that again and better next week.

They now must believe that they belong at this level and can get a positive result against anyone in one-off game.
