Speaking of Pirlo, another reason we need to take the game to Madrid is he's beyond useless when we sit deep and counter, because it's in his nature to spend as long as he possibly can looking for the ideal pass. That and having him anchor the midfield and sitting deep is suicide.
Lol, what? Real Madrid are the best counter team on the planet.

I preach attacking football when we play the lowly likes of Dortmund and Monaco, but this is Real Madrid. We're among the big boys now. We should never completely adapt to another team, but it is only right to consider their strengths.

Big difference between taking the game to the opposition and playing a defensive line half way up the pitch.

Sacchi is just an over-rated retarded.
He won a few competitions in the space of 3 years helped by a number of factors such as:

- a limited number of games was necessary to win; he won 6 trophies playing 24 games; to win a CL now you need at least 13 games;
- he won when the english teams were out of European competitions, Spanish and Germans were nobodies; his finals were against giants such as Steaua Bucarest and benfica and they needed a very friendly ref to overcome mighty Aarau of Switzerland (a lot more than us with Monaco);
- due to the ban on english teams, he was able to steal Riikard, Gullit and Van Basten to Liverpool and Manure
- after losing the 1990 Scudetto he was sacked and won fuck all ever since
- his great attacking football was a modern version of catenaccio; his players used to stop counter-attacks with professional fouls that didn't get carded back in these days; FIFA changed the rules also about the offside back in 1990 (there was a saying: when Baresi raises his hand, the ref blows the whistle). His teams would finish with 8/9 men on thep pitch nowadays with today's rules.

I can continue, but basically history speaks for itself. He had one of the best italian teams in 1994 and struggled to get to the final (which he lost) due to his dumbness of playing the likes of Fuser and Evani over Zola, or subbing Baggio when Pagliuca got red carded.

Enough said.
:tup:

The talk of him being a revolutionary in football makes me sick, yes he was one of the first in Italian Football to start using a 4-4-2 and introduce pressing, but he was aided by having some of the finest footballers to ever play the game in his Milan team of the late 80s. And yes, he was fucking disgraceful for Italy as CT, his squad selections and tactics in the big tournaments was woeful. Baggio carried his ass through 94 and I remember he also picked chumps like Massaro over Zola and Signori :serge: And lets not forget the disaster that was Euro 96. I'll never forget him playing Del Piero for one half in the tournament as a LW FFS.

Why does he hate Allegri so much though? Was it over an argument on TV or something? Pretty sure the beef started around 2011 when Allegri was with Milan.

We still actually need to play ball, and we have 5 times better chances of making something happen with Pirlo on the pitch instead of Sturaro. If all it took was just running around chasing the ball, we wouldnt be in this level competing vs the champions of Europe for the chance to get the title.
True, but Pirlo defensively scares the shiit out of me. Not to mention those times he decides to chew the ball when he's under pressure.

We need confidence. I just hope the players will give whatever they have! our chances are slim and if Real qualify it wouldn't be a surprise but i wanna see them giving 100% fight boys! fight!

simeone is pretty successful in denying real's attacking powers. max might have watched real-atleti matches all week.
