When we trying to sign Matuidi/Witsel in the summer, I thought we have improved the team a bit, but when we failed to sign them and started the season looking fairly poor (even if we were winning), I assumed we had just taken a sideways step by weakening our midfield so dramatically over the last couple years (while improving forwards and FBs)... I figured we were a CL Rof16-QF team dependent on draw.

Never would have guessed we'd crush Barca, and then Monaco and be 3 wins away from a treble. Amazing how Allegri transformed this team with a formation change that put Pjanic in a midfield 2.
