age of ajax players tonight:
23 - 27, 19, 29, 21 - 32, 21 - 22, 21, 26 - 30

only schöne and tadic over 30, and onana, de ligt, mazraoui, de jong, neres, van de beek all under 24. our youngest player was rugani (24), and we had 3 players over 31.

this is a game after all, you need balls for it, not years. experience is way too overrated by italians. ffs, our best player in recent weeks was born in this millenium. get those young talents on board asap.

When you think about it rationally, the signing of Ronaldo truly messed up with our expectations and made us slightly delusional that we are a major force now.

Today we faced the reality that this team is utter s*it with this midfield and defense. In attack, Dybala and Berna are nowhere close to being world class.

If it wasn't for Ronaldo, we would've been out of play since ATM. Major improvements are needed in the summer if we strive to be a team that can dominate opponents over two matches.

I couldn't agree more. Allegri can't utilize dybala’s full world class potential by making him track back all the time. I've also noticed that they've tried beefing him up recently and it's making him a lot slower. He's lost that pace and deadly attribute to him up front that he had a couple of years back. As with Ronaldo, I genuinely think that his purchase has made us look incredibly dependant on him, as shown by the recent results when he was injured and the fact that he scored all of our last 5 ucl goals. People see us as a weak team without him. Poor guy can't do it all on his own. We need another mega buy in the summer especially in the midfield even if it means sacrificing dybala.

@Mark, do u reckon that Beppe was primarily sacked cause he disapproved the signing of Ronaldo and wanted to invest the money in strengthening other areas?

I'm just wondering what would've been his moves and progression of the season if we didn't sign the goat.
You mean the same guy who paid 90m for Higuain?
