Young Boys have some kind of artificial pitch, which causes a lot of troubles to teams that aren't used to playing on such a surface. So a draw there is far from being impossible.

And Mourinho will play in Spain, which is a decent motivation for him by itself, and he'll play against unmotivated Valencia, which is basically just an even worse version of Man Utd right now.

It might sound ridiculous, but MU have quite decent chances to eventually top the group.
Why so much pessimism it is our year

I'm not a fan of a single one of our midfielders
Matuidi has been consistently perfect in doing what he's supposed to do - stopping opponents' attacks.

But his partners in midfield bring almost nothing to the table, so he has to even play up front, where he's not that good, but that's not his fault.

Pjanic and Dybala, who are supposed to be the creative part of the midfield (Dybala is more of a midfielder now), conversely, have been consistently bad. This is why this team have nothing to offer up front but pointless crosses and Ronaldo's superpowers.

Without Ronaldo this team would look terrible, it would be a typical Juventus of the first part of any previous season.

This defense is mediocre and shaky without Chiellini.

This midfield is mediocre and lacking solidity without Matuidi.

This attack has potential to be great even without Ronaldo, but only if it's DC - Mario - Bernardeschi, but the first one is out of shape and the third one is injured.

And this is with all that depth and quality in the squad. Max has a lot of work to do. A lot of work.

People want a different approach so their idea is to take off players that score regularly in clutch moments.

With these kind of performances we’re never gonna win chl. So not convincing. I still dont get why Allegri insists on playing with 3 midfielders, our midfielders are very bad. Matuidi good in defense average in attack. Pjanic on and off form since forever. Bentancur a lot of potential but still very young to expect anything from him. Can is not integrated and Khedira is injrued (not than anyone misses his slowmotion performances).

3 CMs, 3 CFs it is

However it is November and we are just trying not to run out of steam, before March. Then Max will make us play. It is much more energy conserving to save your best tactics and play for later. It's not like we are struggling to pull these 1-0's home. We don't even need to use our subs. So safe and energy conserving is it. It's part of the plan, it's always been working like that, some of the seniors here can explain.

I call energy saving is bullshit lol and it didn't even help us to win UCL Final. Recent UCL winners like Zidane Madrid or Pep Barca they almost always played with same 11 all seasons and they didn't have problem to dominate and steamrolled their opponents. This energy saving only hold us back when it matters cause our players tend to have lapse of concentration when they think the game is on their bag. Even tonight we almost repeating the incident against United cause Valencia looked threatening in last 10 minutes
