We really struggled with their intensity. It's clear that many of our players are not used to games where you have very little time or basically no time on the ball. Their pressing lead to us making multiple mistakes on the ball and those kinds of mistakes cost you dearly at this level. We also massively struggled wit their set-pieces, mainly corners. In a way I think it's good to face these kinds of test from time to time, it shows you the level you need to get to in order to be at the absolute top. Sadly we're still miles off, thankfully in today's game the stakes weren't that high.
I saw tonight's match as:
1. Not lose or lose by 1 and be humiliated by being eliminated by some team like Salzburg in the next round.
2. Lose by 2 or more and be humiliated by being destroyed by Liverpool, Bayern, City in the next round.

After a long long time, this year we have a team that isn't among Europe's best 16. It's just not a good team. Not even good enough for the 4th spot in Italy, which we won't get btw. We're making it to the next round in the CL only because we were lucky to get two incredibly weak opponents in the group.

Completely raped in every way. Tactically, physically, technically.

Allegri has an excuse for a bad squad, but not for the way he makes it 100x worse with his experiments.

Players have an excuse for a bad tactical setup, but not for getting absolutely dominated in every way. Fucking Jorginho was winning tackles left and right, blowing people out of the water. Let alone tanks like James and RLC.

In a vacuum the loss doesn't matter that much, but my God is it disheartening to see the difference in actual levels of the teams. Their entire bench would start for us ffs. And they had injury problems.

Woj was a bright spot, and has been for some time now. Good to see we at least don't have to worry about his brainfarts that much for now at least.

Rest of them need to run back to Torino.

Apart from Kante and Jorginho, barely any of Chelsea's starting 11 would get into Man City, Liverpool, Bayern, PSG teams yet they are the current CL champions and top of the PL. What does that say about us that we were totally blown away by this team? Also, we need defenders, midfielders plus a striker, not just 'a midfielder to partner Locatelli' because we were exposed all over the pitch.

Thank god February is a long way away. Hopefully by then Allegri and this sorry team have it figured out. But if they can't, I hope we get Bayern, there's no shame in losing against them, getting knocked out by the onion, and any other weak ass teams will leave scars.
