After sadly being out of the european competitions, thanks to not being effective enough during those home games against City and Juve, I'm a bit sad about it but way more proud about the way our guys approached those games.
Though, I also read about how football's being done at Man City and think it's absolute crap.
There were about seven to eight thousand Gladbach fans at the Emptyhead and reading all those reports, what they expierenced was a total joke.
First off all, there was no support at all from the home crowd and it rather felt like an audience at the opera instead of a football game.
The thing the club does is to also put the "singing section"(WTF is this and are those others just allowed to clap and buy merch at the shop?) right next to the away fans section and seperate it by a couple of stewards and a tiny fence.
I mean, if your cynical you might believe that this is on purpose to create a fight between fans to finally end all of the fan culture at their stadium.
During the game, the only ones you could hear were those Gladbach fans and the "City fans" were just holding their smartphone at the Gladbach fans being in awe about others singing and supporting a club.
After we scored it got crazy with their fans throwing food at ours and pointing at a couple of them to tell the stewards that they had to be banned from the stadium for....um....standing up and cheering.
The funniest part was them singing "you don't sing anymore" after taking the lead(only time they ever sang during the game), which was countered by "you only sing when you're winning" by Gladbach fans, but probably wasn't heard given that most of them ran out of the stadium before the end to maybe go shopping again(the shop is open again, was the last thing the stadium announcer said) or so...
I know that football's a business(they had a banner thanking their sheikh

) and you need money to sign players and stay competitive, but I'd rather have us being a "selling club" and never win a title instead of experiencing anything like that at Borussia Park.
I mean, if that ever were the case it'd probably be time to look for something else to spend your time and money on.
