because barzagli left his zone and no one came to cover him = bad chemistry, he played only once or twice with bonucci in 4 man defence in the past season
I mean, how can you defend our players? they've fucked in the final from a to the b, they've played like a cheap hookers, they were scared of messi, that's the problem, we have no leader who could fire up the team, that's key factor too in big matches

ofc someone should have covered Barzagli's zone and definitely they've discussed it before the match, it's a simple thing, but Allegri will never explain it to us, it's Thuram - Hyypia situation all over again, when Capello asked Lilian to mark only Sami on the corners but Thuram decided to play vs another player, boom 0-2

Barzagli was playing a good game. When we were positionned well, they tried 5 times to get past it and it didnt work. Trough balls didnt work (but bonucci had those).
These counters RUS is referring to, was allways 5-6 barcelona players at very high speed running towards barely 2-3 juventus players. It was barcelona that played out the situation well.
Are we really rating a centreback on how they do when they are outnumbered 2 to 1 on a counter ?
The midfield was at fault, its unacceptable that there was nobody in the center to block that off

please shut up, this is the perfect pic to explain what went wrong for us - and yes it's Barzagli to blame, just move forward and tackle messi, don't let him come closer, you have 3 more partners behind you vs. 2 opponents, the odds for Messi to give a good through ball are poor, while you can see your 2 partners behind him, if you tackle him or grab him or whatever there are good chances to stop him or alteast let your partners kick the ball away from him, this is what Barzagli level defender should do, instead, he did poor tackle, fell and let messi shoot, deal with it

I actually broadly agree with you, but Messi does those little changes of direction so well that it can make even the best defenders look daft. The little drop of his shoulder put Barza off balance, making his tackle attempt look ridiculous, though not as ridiculous as Boateng when a similar thing happened in the semi!
I agree he could have probably fouled him, but it's a risk being on a booking when Messi, Neymar and Suarez are dribbling at you...

you are wrong on so many levels, as midfielder, you cannot mark opponent when your team attacks, you cannot stay near forward of your enemies team, it's just simple as that, that's why counter-attacks are so dangerous, that's why barcelona has scored a lot of goals using counter-attacks in the previous season, this is what juventus should have learned, attackers are staying wide away but at the same time defending side plays in the compact football otherwise you give your opponent too many open zones

At this point, he will continue to run at the goal, and have a good shooting chance. Normally a cm needs to make a professional faul here, but they were positionned very bad.
One of the defenders had to step out to block off messi. Barzagli steps out, and Messi simply lunges into that space on the left. He then proceeds to have a pretty damn good shot, none of the other cb's block.
messi made his entire name in these situations. on the run, lots of space to move into, drawing out defenders and taking them on speed to the wide area.
Barzagli isnt a "stopper" style of cb. He's good holding his line, positionning and beeing terribly difficult to get past in position. Chiellini isnt as good at that, but is excellent at stepping out, and making sure he'll eighter rocket the ball away, or get some faul that at least stops the play.
Saying Barzagli shouldnt step out is silly. Messi would have a clear shot, you have to block him off, or he'll shoot or send a defender trough, or tries a 1v1 on the edge of the box to draw a faul.

Where did i say that underrate Barzagli or something? HE is one of the world's best, the problem is that he was absolutely not ready for the final of CL and what's is worse our squad was not ready to play with Bonucci - Barzagli partnership in the middle of defence

"tackling" has so many aspects. Barzagli is quite amazing at most. But the best player at stepping out to stop an attack, or disrupt it greatly is chiellini

As much as i love barzagli, we cannot compare him to Nesta, who was a brilliant allrounded defender, that was widely recognised as the best central defender in the world for more then a decade
