I think the guy above was slightly wrong. Without 11/12 season it looks like:

Spain 79.928
Germany 63.463
England 62.034
Italy 58.105

Italy less than 4 points away from England. And the league has this season and the next to make up for it. We're already 4.5 points ahead of England this season. If one of the teams wins a CL/EL, it's very realistic England falls behind.

And if Juventus wins CL, with 2 Italian finalists in EL, it's possible to overtake England by the end of this season.

well, our old nemesis once again.

I cant say im not pleased, because lets be honest...RM is the one that in theory could hurt us less from the 3 teams. Barcelona and Bayern are in a good patch of form and have deadly attackers that will pwn us. Bayern is a machine like always, and a better oiled machine than our machine.

Real madrid is missing modric...and apart from they obviously talented players... i think their form is not as good. Also they have crunch matches around the dates of our games...so maybe we can get them tired or no as focused. Who knows.

ANyways... this doesnt mean this tie will be easy....and in fact will be our toughest test since our 2 legged games in the group phase of last year.

Luckily, this time i think we have more weapons to harm them....and if we recover Pogba,, it will be even better but im not counting on him.

Anyways.... lets win plz. Now we cant stop.

seedings for the 2002-03 champions league:

real were the title holders, juve were still pot 1 material (tied 7th with parma :D ). now we're at 14th place based on the last 5 years, but 5th based on the last 3 seasons.

as for the country coefficients, italy will need 2 strong seasons to overtake england. based on the last 3 years, the two countries are pretty even at the moment. a good finish of the season in both cl and el would see italy move ahead considering the last 3 years.

Nah. I could see us surviving two legs best against Real out of the whole lot. As for the final, as bizarre as it sounds, this is where I think playing only one leg is an advantage to us this time. :xfinger: :D

I'm feeling very very confident. Rm haven't been very convincing in cl, some of their key players are injured, and they have a tough stretch of games including us in a very short period. Ancelotti isn't known to rotate much and a lot of rm fans are worried he won't rotate the squad at all due to injuries. On top of this, these games are must win if they want to keep up with barca.

I feel very very confident.

:agree: Especialy if we get to play against Barca. I haven't watched Luis Enrique recently but when he was in Roma he did not strike me as a tactically savvy coach. Anything can happen in a 90 minute encounter.

Because we're the only team that's is not embarrassing to lose against. Madridisti will just say "oh well big deal, lost against the best team in the world, shit happens"
Love the spirit around here. Keep it up.

Don't let the likes of Ocelot ruin the mood.

I think this was a one-off season for England in Europe more than being a start of some trend. I don't think it is a realistic possibility to leapfrog England in the co-efficient ranking basically because they're rich and although money alone can't buy you success it makes success a hell of a lot more likely. Leapfrogging Germany in the next few years is certainly a possibility since they only have one team that can sustain its success for longer than one year. We have struggling big clubs that could sustain their success if they get out of the mess they're in, they don't.
