Outside of Italy teams don't just sit back, but they also press which makes things very difficult. Juventus wins by very small margins, even though it's on a consistent basis. That margin is made even smaller when teams come out and press.

As it weird as it may sound, with Pogba out, I think facing a Madrid or Barcelona would be just as risky as facing Monaco. Allegri will at least have the reassurance that Monaco was shit in the second leg against Arsenal.
No, just, no Mr Happybum. They are clearly the easiest/best team we could have drawn and it will be a failure if we can't get past them over two legs. This really is a golden chance for us to get into the semi-finals.

We haven't been in the semis for so long. Now everything has lined up perfectly. We should rotate as many players as possible in coming weeks and think of this as the game of the season.

Some of you are overrating Monaco. I feel a lot of that is based on their shock result against us in the first leg. I wouldn't read too much into that, Wenger's teams have a tendency to self implode and make opposing teams look a lot better than they actually are, its happened a number of times over the past few years.

just realised the first leg is on the morning of my bday, must be a good sign :D
What bias? That's exactly the kind of player he is, 80% that he won't show up for the game at all - if he does he can score or create a goal out of nothing.

Monaco has alot of pace upfront , and our aging defense will need to have proper support from midfield to see this through.

Marchisio would be a better option than Pirlo for this game I feel.

Respectfully disagree. I think the first leg will be a perfect Pirlo game. They'll sit in, they won't press us in midfield. That means Pirlo can dictate the tempo, and he might be exactly what we need to unlock their defence.

yes, at the score 1-0 for Arsenal, Van Persie got a red for not stopping going towards goal after the whistle from the ref  incredible how much help that disgusting team got over the last few years

I think people are forgetting how difficult smaller teams were to break down with 3-5-2 in CL. Adding an extra body in the final third made the difference. Now that luxury is not there anymore with Pogba gone.
