Circumstances seem remarkably similar:
However, in 2010, Uefa fined Debrecen £15,000 but rejected a protest from opponents Litex Lovech, who wanted the Hungarian side kicked out of the tournament for fielding an ineligible player.
Debrecen argued that they fielded Peter Mate in good faith as a substitute in Bulgaria when they were leading 4-1 on aggregate.
Uefa ruled that Debrecen had "no interest in fielding this player for the three last minutes of additional time, when the score was so clearly in its favour".
Celtic got so lucky here, think that is a very harsh punishment for Legia. I also agree with Badass about fair play. If it was Barca or Madrid no way they would kick them out of the tournament.
It won't really make a difference, Napoli can probably get more coefficient points from EL than CL anyway. Not that they are that bad, but being in third pot for CL group stage makes it really hard for them.
I hope Napoli get through the to the group stages at least so they get more money to build on. I always root for all Italian teams in Europe it's the right thing to do.

The wave of 'italian football is shit' is a huge annoyance. Besides, nothing wrong in wanting a rival to do well in europe for the good of the attraction power of the league. And people here always ready to whine that we cant attract the players we want. Who would want to come to a sufferer league.
The ideal scenario is Napoli out against Atletic and continues in EL, plus Roma out of group stages continues in EL, Juve progressing out of CL froup.
Big money for Juve and big coefficient for Serie A if Roma and Napoli get far in EL.

That will only benefit Juve and not the league at all. For serie A to grow teams need to earn more money and Napoli failing to qualify for the CL would be a huge disaster for the league and Napoli.
It would seriously slow them down so much losing out on 30-40 million. The best thing for Serie A is competition and not one team being miles ahead of the rest of the competition.
You are right, I was thinking about Juventus getting like 10 or 15 million less from UEFA due to last seasons failure in Europe, but I forgot how much money a team gets for simply qualifying to CL.
